Zavvi took over from Virgin Megastores after Branson decided it was time to get out of the high street cd/dvd game, but only lasted a year or two before shutting up shop entirely and retreating into the online shopping market with its much lower overheads. Essentially Zavvi's website is identical to those ran by Play and Hmv, being professionally designed and maintained and offering a wide range of mainstream cds, dvds, books and video games at competitive prices. That said, whilst there are some bargains to be had, ive found that their dvds can frequently be bought quicker over at Play.com, but Zavvi is still well worth a visit when youre comparing online prices.

Zavvi offer pretty reliable service, and though I have recieved emails from them in the past informing me that a title will be delayed due to not being in stock despite being listed as such, their delivery service is normally pretty fast and orders can be cancelled and money refunded if you change your mind prior to an item being sent, or alternatively, you can send an item back to them if you change your mind and your money will be refunded quickly upon the item's reciept. Their book range is pretty dispiriting, consisting of the usual supermarket-book fodder for the most part, and their games can usually be bought cheaper elsewhere, and its worth looking on Amazon Marketplace to see if you can get items cheaper there, but on the whole Zavvi is still well worth a browse.
