Advantages: Good, Fast Laptop and Light weight
Disadvantages: Not too sturdy

...The Vaio S4M/S is a good laptop, offering good speeds, a decent amount of RAM and the classic good looks of most Sony products. Howevr, i have found it to be a little unreliable sometimes, occasionally crashing. Also, it isn't too sturdy; don't drop it! Having said this though, these qualities are offset by the magnificent customer support that i have found from Sony. Other advantages are the great quality screen, with the x-black technology that really makes a difference. Also, the storage is quite good, but if you want to use it for movies, definitely buy an external hardrive, it is worth the investment. Overall, a good laptop, though really works better as a desktop due to its size. I would recommend it. ...I'm using sony vaio laptop as well, but not this model. But my brother is using this Sony Vaio S4. It works great and all the items are perfect. It is suitable for all types of user, especially for gamer and musical. It includes mobile pentium 1.6 with centrino technology, which includes all the mobile wireless features, a double layer dvd+- writer, graphic card of Geforce 6200 supports 128mb, a supports 5.1 sound card, memory stick slot allows camera user copy their picture easily, and the 13.3" monitor suits either for home user or mobile user. The most important thing is it is durable. My sony vaio laptop already use 1 year, it still works great and thanks to the powerful radiator system it have. Highly recommended!!... Read review

Advantages: Generally Good in all aspect
Disadvantages: Not that i could think of

...I personally uses it. I hav to say, works great, and everything fits in well in terms of function. It runs good with games, or music whether using IPOD or ITUNE, and it has good hardware, that is its pentium 1.6 and a good DVD reader with writer. My Computer comes with a good Graphic card, good for many games, forgot about the sound card it has, but it has good sound card, especially for music along with a speaker plug in. Like many Sony Laptop, comes with a memory stick slot which is convenient for those using sony digital camera. Overall, i think the computer is quality guarantee, and it's reliable whether using it for game, or for work purpose.
