I'm not an overly girly girl, and the mix of stories and jokes makes a much better read for me than the endless fashion articles on a lot of women's magazines. If you look past all the semi naked women, it's actually a great read! Though, if you're male, you might not wanna look past the semi naked women!!!
Zoo has the typical blokes' man cover, mainly showing women, and since Jodie Marsh joined the magazine, she usually features at some point with her usual unique dress sense!
The index page is very clear, divide into various sections, such as features and reviews, and all the cover stories are clearly shown.
Zoo mainly features stories aimed at blokes, covering football, women and also a great deal of amazing stories from all over the world, some plain bizarre, others sexual. There are also some really funny captions along with the pictures, and the magazine is worth it for same of these alone.
Another weekly feature is Jimmy Carr's page. He presented distraction on Ch 4 and has a very warped sense of humour. His page has me in stitches; he has a unique sense of sarcastic humour. Some of the comments are very near the knuckle, but somehow he gets away with it!
There is also a weekly jokes page, and some of the jokes are actually original and are actually funny, unlike some other magazines. There are also some funny cartoons on the jokes page, all really funny.
Keeping in with the humour is the zoo inbox, where people send in all their funny jpegs, you know the pics that you send to all your mates by email, well, you can send them here as well!
There is also a weekly letters page, also usually funny, with some really dodgy pics, which look like they've been sent in my drunken male students...
Jodie marsh and Mo Mowlem (!) are the resident sex experts, and they answer your sex related questions in zoo uncovered. Zoo uncovered also features other sex tips, including the sex tips that women's magazines ahve printed that week. The sex news page is also well worth a read, as it covers all the weird sex related stories that week.
Zoo lists are also well worth a read with lists such as weird superstitions throughout the world, and this is accompanied by the zoo pub quiz, all that usefull information that you really wanna know, but have no need of!
There is aalso a very comprehensive reviews section, and covers the cinema, DVD’s and music. Zoo TV covers the TV guide, with their own pick of the days for every day, and features about all the best TV programmes.
As with most men's magazines, the back pages are dedicated to sport although I usually don't bother with this part of the magazine!
Zoo is a great read for a weekly magazine, and the usual price is only £1.10, although most weeks it seems to be ion a special offer price of 50p. There are also next to no ads, and there are some genuinely funny articles. I'm not sure if this would appeal to the very girly girl out there, but for someone like me, who is very dirty minded and loves a good laugh, it's a great read, and I would buy this before some of the more celeb and fashion obsessed female magazines out there.
Zoo has it all, the jokes, the funny bits, the news, the gossip, the celebrities, the sex, plus it's a weekly magazine, and is very good value. The staff on this magazine must be very twisted, but at the same time, their humour really comes across, and I do look forward to reading this every week!
Advantages: Selling power, Certain people enjoy reading it Disadvantages: Largely garbage, Generic, Non-stimulating
...for its sheer selling power. Zoo maybe more of an apt title for this magazine than it would first appear and in its interior its exhibits are football - is popular – put it in, models that will catch the eye – put them in, luxury expensive cars – put them in, which neatly brings us to the completion of quite the animalistic magazine. ...

THE MAGAZINE – ZOO
*********************
A glossy, all colour magazine along the lines of ‘Loaded’ and ‘FHM,’ although I expected this to be a ‘cheaper’ version. Having a very quick 5-second flick through, I caught sight of various bits of female flesh, so already it was a winner in my eyes. Issue number 29 has 109 pages and is advertised as the biggest ... ...the pictures. There are various regular sections as well as well as special features, so I will take you through the important bits.
REGULAR FEATURES
********************
Regular sections are similar to most magazines in the ‘Men’s’ category. Amongst these are Jokes, Pub Quiz and letters. None of these sections were stunning in content, but worth a read all the same.
SPORT CONTENT

Advantages: cute women in bikini's Disadvantages: probably to take an hour to read tops
...host of publications in between. Zoo is one of the first ones that seeks to attract a weekly purchasing customer base. It is pitched somewhere between Loaded and FHM in content and editorial style and at £1.20 you get what you pay for. For me, I look for a bit more depth to my articles and more variety, with Zoo the reader gets a number of lightweight articles that scratch the surface without going in to any detail. It has a matey lads together style ... ...to pad these out, with Zoo you pretty much get a full 98 pages of material with only about four full page adds.
This is the third time I have read this magazine and the content and format is pretty similar, if you are looking for something to pass an hours commute on the train in the morning it may just about do he job but you will need to read slowly, if it is the journey home and you just want to look at the pictures then it will do the job. Advantages: Cheap, amusing Disadvantages: Not a long read
Zoo is a weekly magazine that is aimed at men, although it is probably more accurate to say that it is aimed at lads. I would say that it is rather like Loaded, only with fewer pages.
The magazine is largely based around pictures of scantily clad women. Clearly this is what sells the magazine as these ladies always feature on the cover. The magazines journalist style is humorous, looking at various odd stories from around the world. The magazine ... ...gadgets and sex (not necessarily in that order) as these seems to be the main emphasis of the magazine.
There are also reviews of new films, DVD, etc. Finally there is also a TV guide which is useful. The TV guide is probably the most useful bit.
This magazine is not aimed at the intellectual elite. It is a light-hearted read, probably taking less than an hour to cover. Although I suppose you might like to refer to the TV guide more often. To be ...

Advantages: Happy, healthy, protected animals. Disadvantages: A bit steep in places
I will begin by saying that I have posted this opinion here although I know that it has nothing to do with the adverts for Paignton Zoo, because the categories in Ciao don’t really allow for attractions in anything other than the main cities. If anyone from Ciao happens to read this and sees fit to move it to a more suitable place – please do so with my gratitude.
Anyway – on to the opinion…….
If you are ever in the area of Paignton I would recommend a visit to Paignton Zoo. It is one the best zoos that I have ever had the pleasure to visit.
I intend to tell you about our day there, but I won’t go into details about every individual animal as this sort of information can be found on the website at www.paigntonzoo.org.uk. Instead I shall endeavour to give you a feel for the place by describing ...
Advantages: Exellent selection of animals, plenty to do and see Disadvantages: a bit expensive, hard on the feet
Chester zoo, a day out for all the family. As the kids are on holiday from school and we aren?t going away, we decided a good day out at the zoo was in order, and what a good day it was.
We set of from Burnley in the rain, it is summer after all, but by the time we arrived in Chester it was dry and the sun was breaking through.
As the country is still in the grips of the foot and mouth epidemic sections of the zoo are actually closed to the public, but we new this before we set of as the zoo web site is kept up to date (www.chesterzoo.org). To compensate for this partial closure and to thank us for our support when they most need it, we get half price entrance next time we go.
It is not a cheap day out £10 / adult, £8 / child and under 3?s free, but the variety of animals to see is vast, from the large elephant ...
Advantages: Best show - The Human Zoo Disadvantages: Otherwise mainly football
I started putting the radio on at night to help me get to sleep, but now that I’ve found The Human Zoo on Talk Sport listening to the radio isn’t having the desired effect.
The basic premise is that anyone can call and go straight to air without the calls being screened beforehand – so people are free to say or do whatever rather than stick to a topic, and like the audience the presenter, Tommy Boyd, also has no idea what will happen next. Many people take this opportunity not to talk but to perform a comedy routines or play music. I’ve found that stand-up comedy is much more effective over the radio as what you see is in your imagination and the performer can read from a script without the audience knowing, improving the quality of the performance. Others will just have questions they would like answered, like ...
