Advantages: small, cheap, fast Disadvantages: gets hot, not as cheap as USB only modems
So this is the device needed to get the ADSL line working but how well does it work?
Appearance

The first thing I noticed about this model is the colour of it. Its silver and this gives it a modern appeal. Its small and rather thin. It is only 2.8cm x 17.5cm x 11.8cm so makes it a compact modem.
It is also light and weights in at 600 grams. When the modem is switched on, it has yello LEDs that light up to show if the power is on, USB, ethernet and if the ADSL line is there.
System Requirements

Advantages: Facilities, easy set up, lights(!), stability Disadvantages: Some backwards compatibility issues, lack of web executable filtering
The Netgear DG834PN is the latest version of the DG834 and combines an ADSLmodem with a wireless router and 4 port switch. In plain English, this plugs in your phone socket and allows one or more PCs to share the connection via either a wired or wireless link.

As with most similar devices, further configuration is done via a web interface. The wireless section supports 802.11b and 802.11g as well as Netgear's own 802.11 Super G variant offering 108Mbps. The unit features 6 internal Antennas which constantly reconfigure ...
Advantages: Good for surfing the net on the move, downloading music and watching youtube. Disadvantages: Forget about playing online games or downloading large files. 1st line support is indian.
.
As for web based use its actually not too bad, if all you are doing is watching youtube, surfing the net or checking your email/facebook it works well, although at peak times you may have to wait a few minutes for that youtube video too load.
I get around 60KB-130KB and its been the same no matter where in the country ive been, And ive used the service in scotland england and wales
The service goes down at least a few hours a week, once it went down for 2 weeks and after calling india 10 times who's only advice was to unplug the usbmodem and plug it back in again they put me through to a uk based technician who managed to get it sorted. If you do not feel like waiting 45mins to speak to someone you can always email support on the t-mobile website and they will ring you back usually a day later.
Recently I took the sim card out ...
