Zoom Zoom Zoom Indeed!

Advantages: Quick and Easy installation
Disadvantages: Low wireless range

First of all I must congratulate Zoom for such a fantastic product. Out of all my experiences with wireless/wired routers including; Netgear, Belkin and Linkysys (Cisco), I have found the Zoom X6 Wireless ADSL router to be the most user-friendly router I have ever used. In the box you will get; The wireless router, Power Lead, RJ5 cable (used to connect the router to a base unit in order to cingure the router softwar, once the software has been configured the RJ45 lead may be taken out as long as you have a wireless receiver, i.e. USB, PCMCIA or PCI), instruction manual and CD-ROM software. The first thing to do when you open the box, lay out all your parts and make sure everything is there, then put the CD-ROM into your CD drive, the software is very straight forward and the whole setup process takes about 15 minutes to ...

Linksys's Lightning fast wireless router

Advantages: Fast speeds, Reliable, Stylish
Disadvantages: I had wireless problems, Gets a bit warm, no restart router option in config

The Linksys WAG160N N300 is an ADSL2+ wireless modem router, meaning it has a a modem built in. It is for use with BT Internet connections rather than for use with a Cable broadband connection (i.e. Virgin) although a Cable version is also available. It?s an ADSL2 router, which means it supports the newer ADSL standard, which could mean faster transfer speeds although this really depends on your line quality, distance from Exchange, service with ISP, etc. The router currently costs £74.99 from PC World but a bit less at £59.99 on their website. I bought mine about 8 months ago on Ebuyer for around £55. IN THE BOX You receive two ADSL filter s, RJ11 cable, user manual, manual and software CD, power adapter and lastly, the router itself. THE ROUTER ITSELF One thing I quite like about the router is that it looks quite ...

Review of Linksys Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway WAG160N - wireless router

Netgear DG834G Wireless ADSL Router; perfect home solution

Advantages: Reliability and value for money.
Disadvantages: Operating temperature.

In my opinion this broadband ADSL router is one of the best on the market considering its price. I have been using this model (I've had different versions) for a number of years and never have I known one to fail; this is especially impressive considering I never turned them off when in use. I am a very heavy internet user and when configured correctly delivers on the speed that you would expect. In terms of 'plug and play', there is very little needed to be configured on this product to start surfing away and it comes with a single quick start sheet that shows clearly how to access the configuration page through a web browser initially. For more advanced users it is very easy to configure port-forwarding (useful when playing online games or downloading via peer-to-peer to achieve the desired connection speeds). It even supports VPN ...
