ZyXEL's Prestige 324 is an intelligent broadband sharing gateway with integrated firewall protection. This high performing security router can reach throughput rates of 28Mbps, while simultaneously offering features such as Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), Denial of Service (Dos) and Access Control with scheduling. Additional value-added features include Dial Backup and Traffic Redirect, both of which enhance data transmission efficiency, and minimize costs associated with operation and maintenance. Security management is simplified with an intuitive Web management interface and easy-to-use administration wizard. A rich feature set combined into one compact unit makes the Prestige 324 the best and most affordable choice for residential and SOHO users. The prestige 324 features a 4-port 10/100Mbps switch for local network connections. The MDIX feature automatically and transparently detects wired cables, making network installation easy and manageable. ZyNOS, ZyXEL's proprietary networking software allows multiple users to share a single ISP account. The Prestige 324 behaves as a DHCP client to obtain an IP address from ISP servers when the link is up. It also serves as a DHCP server on the LAN to provide IP addresses to local computers. Based on Stateful Packet Inspection, Denial of Service (Dos) and Attack Alert, the Prestige 324 provides the first line of defense against hackers, network intruders, and other hazardous threats. The Prestige 324 offers users increased reliability by supporting Fail-Over and Fail-Back technology. Fail-Over and Fail-Back technology forward WAN port traffic to backup ISDN or Analog modems in the event of WAN port connection failure. Once WAN port connections are reestablished, traffic automatically returns. An additional gateway may also be connected to the Prestige 324 to ensure High-Availability of the Internet. Prestige 324 backup features increase reliability while decreasing device maintenance, IT consulting costs, and daily operation losses.

Advantages: its white, which is nice, if you have macs everywhere. Disadvantages: adsl unreliable, debvice unreliable, firmware faulty.
...i bought one of these and the first thing i noticed was that the router fails the window connectivity test (upnp section). it would also drop out the adsl connection for no apparent reason wheras my netgear dg834g would never do.
i then tried a firmware update and this made no difference. the upnp just stops working completely after around 5-10 mins of operation and does not return unless you reboot the router.
later the whole router started resetting randomly. i returned it and got a replacement, and had the exact same experience again.
i never got to try the homeplug av part of it. i was attracted by the £50 price tag on pc worlds website, lets just say you cannot get a 54g adsl router and homeplug for £50, coz these things are very poor indeed.
the 2 worst routers i have ever used have both been Zyxel.
why is upnp...
