Another.com is great in that it's free. The other special feature of it is the shear number of alias's and email addresses you can have. The choice is massive, so personalising your email is easy. Actually getting the different email addresses is a dull and tedious process, but mercifully short.
I first used this site because a friend had told me about it. One advantage that I have found is that I can use one of my email addresses as a junk account - for emails sent to me by companies that I have subscribed to for some reason. This means that I need never be bothered by the irrelevant rubbish they insist on sending me despite me asking them not to. Incidentally, it's also a good way of keeping track of whether companies are actually keeping your data secure when you ask - if you give them different addresses each, then you can be pretty sure where the unsolicited mail came from (often such mail cannot be replied to as it comes from a system - so your reply will never actually be seen. So, if you know who sent it - you can find out their actual email address to complain to them. I recieve a lot of unsolicited mail that clogs up my already busy inbox - so this is important to me).
That aside, another.com also gives you 5MB of storage space for attachments. This is great - I use it for storing journal articles that I may need - so I don't have to cart them to work and back again. This is a fab service, but don't put all your trust in it. I've lost many files to the great cyberspace god this way. He seems to be particularly fond of my Excel files (if anyone knows why this is happening to me - please let me know! I lost about 8 hours working time because I lost a file that was kept on another.com and had been unwittingly deleted from my hard drive by some barely computer literate moron). So, obviously, be sure to back your files up.
Another.com's layout is a bit dull. It's not very modern looking, but it gets the job done and is nice and clear to use. The help that you can get from the "contact us" service is pretty good - but forget it if you want to ask anything irregular - it's really just a very good users guide rather than actual IT type support.
So, all in all it's ok. Nothing splendid, but ok. If you're looking to have quick and easy access to loads of addresses - this really is the site for you. If that's not what's important, then another.com is fine, but nothing special.

Advantages: A fun alternative, as good as any of the big boys. Disadvantages: Whilst they've got rid of the sponsorship (Apparently), they are now charging for the service. Is it really worth it?
