What a strange site for such a well known institution. I clicked onto
the Asda website expecting to be able to register straight away to
shop on line and to find loads or useful foodie information and
recipes.

What you actually get on the site is something quite different.
Although the site looks good, to me it seemed that it was either
unfinished, or whoever put it up couldn't be bothehred to do a proper
job and put in the least possible work to get Asda online.

There is a shop finder first of all ..... well, rather defeats the
object of being able to shop online that. There's also loads of
company information, reports, press releases, that sort of thing.

Although there are info sections, such as "Guilde to Vegitarian
Eating", "Veggie recipes", fat, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals
bits, they are all very short and sparce. There are only THREE recipes
here!

As for shopping online... from what I can make out you have to send
off for their CDrom first. Never heard of this before. I put in my
post code and lo and behold - they don't deliver to my area ..... even
though I shop at the local Asda which is 5 mins away, also there is a
distribution centre less than 4 minutes away from here. Spooky. Not
one bit impressed I'm afraid. They'll have to do better than this if
they are going to be competitive in the online shopping market.
