ASDA home delivery is a very easy solution to buying your shopping and not having to face the bustling store.
ASDA online has everything you need, and is just like shopping at the store except in the comfort of your home.
You can even buy the non- food items online… Excellent.
I have been shopping with ASDA online for well over a year now, and the service is fantastic, the staff (drivers) always polite and efficient.
ASDA has the economy, the stores, and now the home delivery. All fantastic and brilliant value for money.
I have included an easy way to shopping online for you ASDA home delivery virgins…..
The registration process is reasonably quick and easy, and as soon as you've registered you are able to shop straight away!!
To start with you need to go to www.asda.com and you need to click on:
Groceries to your door
There is then a postcode checker - This is for you to see if ASDA deliveries go to your area. (They have a wide range of delivery areas as I live in the middle of nowhere and they come out to me!)
If they do deliver to your area, a screen will come up inviting you to fill out your details. This is the registration screen.
All areas marked with an asterisk need to be completed. A valid email address is also needed. If you do not have one of these I would recommend either Hotmail or Yahoo as both of these offers free email addresses.
I would recommend if you do live out of the way, or your property is difficult to find to add further instructions in the space provided on the registration form. This will help the delivery drivers find you easier, and you receiving you're shopping quicker!
Further down on the ASDA registration form is also asks you to put it a pin number. I foolishly made the mistake of putting a number in that I could not remember. This isn't a problem as such, as you need to put a memorable date in the field below as if you do forget your pin, you are able to put this date in, and they will then allow you access to your account.
To finish your registration you need to confirm you have read the terms and conditions.
After this you are ready to go shopping!!
After you have registered it takes you to the opening shopping page, this allows you to decide where you want to go first.
I would recommend booking a delivery slot before you go shopping. The reason I do this is that sometimes the delivery slots are full on peak times (Saturdays and Sundays being the busiest)
The delivery slots need to be booked at least a day in advance (you need to have placed your order by 5pm the day previous to your order being delivered)
***TO BOOK A DELIVERY SLOT***
Click on the phrase "click here to book a delivery slot"
This takes you through to a calendar page, today's date is marked in grey, and any dates after this are in white.
Choose a date after today's date and click. This will bring up a list of available times for your shopping to be delivered.
Pick a time, this will be confirmed (don't panic if you change your mind about the day or time, this can be changed at anytime before you place your order)
From the moment you book a delivery slot you then have a maximum of 3 hours to do your shopping. (If you go over the 3 hours then you will need to rebook your slot)
Once you have booked your delivery slot and the confirmation screen has come up, you can finally go shopping!
Now for the fun part, the actual shopping! This is nice and easy thanks to the excellent set up of the site.
On the left of the screen there are lots of sub-categories for you to choose from.
Click on whatever section you want to look in, and it will bring up another list. For example:
Click on Bakery and Cakes
This brings up another list, breaking the items down in to sections such as:
Bread Cakes Cream cakes etc
Then you select which area you want to go into, and this brings up pictures and descriptions of the items ASDA offer.
(To add it to your basket couldn't be simpler, all you need to do is click the quantity you want, and then click add. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT QUANTITY)
Everything that you add to your basket will appear in a list format on the right-hand side of the page. This allows you to "edit" your basket, deleting items and increasing the quantity without having to go back to the item in question.
This is quick and easy as the site runs very effiently and quickly, ensuring that you have no probles with your shopping!
Also if you do have a slower connection to the internet or your computer just runs slowly, you are able to turn the pictures of the products off. This will help speed up the running of the site.
I would recommend clicking on the tab "special offers" to see what ASDA have on special at the moment. Normally they have specials such as 3 for 2 offers or buy 1 get 1 free.
Also look out for the special marks within the actual shopping side of the site. If you hover your mouse over the mark, it will explain exactly what the offer is.
If you do add an offer to your basket, the reduction isn't shown straight away. Don't worry about this as when the paperwork arrives it will show you the reduction on your itemised bill.
Once you have finished your shopping click the phrase "go to checkout"
(There is a minimum delivery order of £25, and there is also a delivery charge of £5
Checkout and payment
Once you have arrived at the checkout screen, it will confirm your delivery date and time. It will also confirm the delivery address.
Please make sure these details are correct.
If you have forgotten anything from the "store" there is a place to click that says "forgotten anything? The store"
Also if you have any vouchers there is a place to put these into. These will be taken off the amount but may not be shown on the paperwork that you receive.
To get to the next page you need to click "next page" this will take you on the payment screen.
You need to put your card details into the available fields. Don't panic, it is a secure site and your card details will be safe.
They accept Maestro, Delta, Visa, MasterCard, and America Express
For added security you need to enter the billing address of the card. If it is the same as the delivery address click "copy delivery address"
Underneath the payment details is a list of what will be purchased. Please check this to make sure that you have everything you need and that you have put the correct quantities in.
Under this there is a statement that says "will you accept substitutes?"
Basically this means that if something is out of stock that you have requested, ASDA will substitute it for something similar. If this substitute is more expensive than what you have requested they will only charge you for what you have ordered not the price of the substitute.
If it is cheaper than what you have requested ASDA will change you the lower amount.
If you decide to accept substitutes, when the delivery arrives you can decided if you want it or not. If you don't want it, it will be deducted from you final bill. All you need to do is tell the driver.
To confirm your order all you need to do is click "confirm order"
You will receive a confirmation email of your order, and also of the time and date it will be delivered.
It's that simple!!
The delivery is just as easy as the shopping itself. You will receive a phone call from the driver roughly about 10-15 minutes before they arrive.
This is to make sure you are at home, and that you are able to receive your delivery.
Once they arrive (This is quicker if they have the details if you are in a hard to find area) they will pull up and firstly ask you to check the paperwork.
They will also confirm if there are any substitutes on your list (this is if you have accepted to receive substitutes)
Once you have checked the paperwork and everything is in order they will ask for a signature for the delivery (the delivery needs to be received by someone living at the address that is over the age of 18)
The driver will deliver the goods to your door in crates pre-packed. (The driver does need the crates back, so I would recommend whilst the driver is delivering the crate to the front door that the bags are taken into the house so the driver can move on to the next customer quickly!)
It's that simple!
There are many extras on the site which help you to do your shopping hassle free such as:
Above the shopping list on the left hand side there is a search bar, if you are looking for a specific product I would recommend this. Type in the item you require, this will bring up a list of matching items. (Be specific, otherwise you'll have a long list to scroll though!!)
If you have been shopping in an ADSA store before and retained the receipt, there is a section where you can put in the code on the bottom of your receipt. This will bring up a list of what you have previously bought. Very helpful if you're in a hurry!
I would recommend ASDA online shopping as it is one of the better home shopping sites. It is easy to navigate around the site and the delivery is prompt.
Personally I have only had one problem with ASDA deliveries since I started with them over a year ago. I requested my delivery on a Sunday afternoon between 12-2. The delivery didn't turn up, and by 4 o'clock I decided to make a phone call. I was told by ASDA that the delivery was running late due to the driver leaving late. Unfortunately due to the store opening hours on a Sunday (10am-4pm) that they were now unable to deliver and it would need to be re-arranged. I was very unhappy about this. To compensate the hassle that I was put through they have now decided to waver all delivery charges.
This has one happened once and they prompt response I got from my complaint proves that the customer service is excellent. The drivers are all pleasant and always happy to bring the shopping to the front door for you.
I would give the 10/10 for their fantastic service!
