I've only ever used the website 'askjeeves.co.uk' at school, week after week in each computer lesson, we had to use the website 'Ask Jeeves' to find the answers to set questions. When I used the website, it was pretty fast and quite useful too, v.reliable. I was very impressed. I must say though, I've never used it at home. If I ever need to search for anything on the web I'll either stick to my home NTL world page and use the search engine or use plain and simple, no hassle, quick and easy to use, Yahoo!
The website works through online simple step-by-step instructions. when you type in the website address, www.askjeeves.co.uk you will quickly recieve a welcoming page, this simply gives you your options and gives you the oppertunity to answer 1 of millions of questions stuck in the top of your head or any questions off the top of yuor head! They can be to do with the internet itself or your computer, it could be to do with music or video entertainment, even gardening or crafts! Anything that you can think of, all you do is type in your appropriate question and you should get an answer!
I used this website like I said before at school, we had set questions which our teacher knew the answers to as she got them off this website, she told us to visit the website and we could recieve the answers for ourselves, the answers were only there because she our teacher told us that they were! Very imparticular questions can sometimes not be recognised on the site and is therefore useless! I found the website helpful, but I know of many others that think the complete oposite, I've never used it at home, I've never had the need to but by the sound of things it doesen't work too well, the questions are sometimes un answered or you get an answer with NAF related articles and NAF and USELESS websites. The best way to do things is to ask simple and easy questions, anything other then that and 'Jeeves' will get muddled up!
To make the website fun and more interesting, a little cartoon character called 'Butler' answers your questions which makes it fun to learn and use by the children in this world as well. You can either type in a phrase, sentence or a question and you should recieve an answer from 'Butler' but another way is to type in keywords and you will get just a good a response!
The layout and presentation of the site is set out really well, the site is fairly quick which is essential in search engines, one thing I strongly believe! The colours, layout and simple features to the site are brilliant and makes it a quick, easy and reliable website to use. The website is doing pretty well I'm led to believe with many many people worldwide using the site on a regular basis. Maybe if you tried the site you may like it, you may not.
