Jeeves wants you to ask a question they have never been asked before to win a million pounds! Sounds good but www.askjeeves.com is a massive site which has been going for a while now and therefore this may be more difficult than it sounds!
The concept of the site is very simple, all you have to do is go to the site and type your question. Jeeves then finds possible sites that will help you answer your question. Most people have probably heard of this site due to the intense advertising that goes on, it is a very good site for any questions you may have and 9 times out of 10 has provided me with a helpful answer.
First you will see... The results of your question are given in a line below your original question. These are what jeeves considers to be helpful information on your question, all you have to do is pick the one/s that sound good and click on them. You will then be taken to the web address shown.
Secondly... A nice touch is the previously asked questions that are lower down the page. This allows you to see what other people have searched for and what answers they found helpful.
Thirdly... You will see the results from other top search engines like lycos, Alta vista etc. He included the top five from each of these.
Problems? Jeeves does not seem to answer many of my questions very well - the trick seems to be to ask in very few words, don’t bother with I, please, you etc. Just use it like a search engine, by putting in the keywords.
Good points? Jeeves provides a good service that seems especially good on the less common subjects when it picks out things that haven't been picked up by other search engines. It is a novel way of using a normal search engine and adds a bit of interest. I find it easier to use than most search engines, with the added bonus that it also checks the main other search engines so you don’t have to bother. And, of course YOU CAN WIN A MILLION!!! This is, of course, the interesting bit! All you have to do is register with the site (only takes a couple of minutes) and then try and ask jeeves a question he has never been asked before. Even if you don’t succeed you can ask up to 50 questions a day so keep going! You are still entered into a daily prize draw to win loads of prizes, including money which runs till 12/07.
Overall I find Jeeves very helpful and always use it instead of a normal search engine, its more fun and provides the best results.
