Gunbroker.com absolutely sucks. As I see it there are five major issues with gunbroker.com.
The first is the storage of your personal credit card information and the incredibly cumbersome process of terminating your own account and having that information removed from the gunbroker.com database.
Second is the misclassification of merchandise within the various listing categories. To me there is just way too much junk and spam listings cluttering up the legitimate listings. Even in the legitimate listings sellers are not require to communicate that products being sold are used rather than new. If you do receive used items that were not identified you are out of luck as gunbroker.com washes its hands of the victim.
Third is that there is no mechanism in place require a seller to sell or ship. I even had on instance of threatening a credit card chargeback and fraud report because a seller was paid, kept payment and failed to deliver. The amazing thing is that gunbroker.com will terminal a buyer account for one instance of non-payment.
Fourth and most unprofessional is this open practice of sellers adding surcharges to payments made with credit cards and Paypal. More frustrating (if not downright crooked) is that sometimes sellers don't even communicate these surcharges until after the auction closes and if a buyer refuses to yield to this extortion he/she is harassed by gunbroker.com.
Overall Gunbroker seems to be operating like a bunch of amature hoodlums. The site is cluttered and messy in appearance. The impression is that gunbroker.com has no concern for its buyers/customers and they refuse to consider contemporary methodology that would lead to higher traffic, safer trading environment and a positive customer satisfaction rating.
