Advantages Advantages its free and easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages you need a credit card to register to prove you are 18 years or over.

I must admit i do like to buy a good bargain when i spot one and Yahoo auctions are certainly a good place to start. I have been using Yahoo auctions for sometime now both buying and selling. The best thing about Yahoo auctions is that they are totally free whether you are buying or selling. It is free to register too. Most other auction sites i have tried want to charge you a fee for selling which can get quite expensive and sometimes they even want to charge just to register. The first thing you need to do is register yourself on Yahoo's auction site. It is all fairly easy to fill in and all ... more

Advantages Advantages It's Free, Easy To Use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a big user base

One of the things the internet has taught me is that one man's crap is another man's treasure. That's where online auctions have come into play, when I think of all the stuff I've sold over the years I'm also inclined to think of how much more money I could have got by selling it via an auction site. The dominant force in online auctions is undoubtedly Ebay, their user base is by far the biggest which means that you have far more chance of selling your items at a price you'd like. But of course Ebay do charge you for the service and that's all well and good if you know that you're going to ... more

Advantages Advantages get what you want a fair ammount of the time

Disadvantages Disadvantages there is a few but it is mostly a good site

Yahoo! Auctions is not a bad site, but it tries to be too much like eBay, and that's just not going to cut it these days. Yahoo! Auctions, like eBay, offers tons of categories, user ratings, a notification service that you can set to e-mail you when certain items up put up for bid, and a good number of items. Unless Yahoo! comes up with something to offer users that eBay doesn't, the site will always come in behind eBay. This, I believe, is because eBay always has a lot more things to offer that Yahoo!, so where are you going to look first? Also, there are more eBay users, evidently, so where ... more

    Advantages Advantages free

Disadvantages Disadvantages search options are a bit weak

This is basically the only online auction site i use, for one reason and one reason only, it is free to sell things where as all other sites (that i have come across make a charge) For the Seller things could not be easier, register (which is free) and browse the categories or search for particular items and bit on them, all the information you require is there. nce you go into the item your interested in the screen is fairly well layed out, you have the seller information which tells you who is selling the product (suprising huh), there is also a number nxt to that person, this is there ... more

Advantages Advantages great bargains, many catergories, free to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages can become addicted

Oh no, not another place for me to find bargains! I am a self confessed bargain hunter. I can't remember now why I first went to yahoo but since then I am constantly there searching the thousands of items for a bargain. Yahoo auctions is part of yahoo.com and can be accessed through their home page or if you have y messenger you can go to the auctions through this. If you are already registered with yahoo then to use the auctions to buy you just need your id and password. If you wish to sell you need to register a credit or debit card, this is only for security reasons and there is no actual ... more
