I must admit i do like to buy a good bargain when i spot one and Yahoo auctions are certainly a good place to start. I have been using Yahoo auctions for sometime now both buying and selling. The best thing about Yahoo auctions is that they are totally free whether you are buying or ... Read review

Advantages: Cheap because you can't spend money Disadvantages: You can't buy anything
Yahoo Auctions have closed completely...
This review used to say "It is difficult to use such a site if you live and bank in the United Kingdom (or Ireland) - almost nothing has overseas postage figures and the other reviews of this site date from before the purchase of the UK business."
Now I need to say that it doesn't exist at all. It is quite difficult to take 120 words to say "this site no longer exists", but I am doing my best.
Come on Ciao ...

Advantages: Fast, Simple to use, Highly configurable. Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
I have used this free service for over two years now and have found it to be a marvelous service. It is very simple to use, with help and advice available at every stage. For searching for goods the site has two options. Either click through category listings until you get to the area of product you are interested in or use their search facility. I have found the search facility to be outstanding. Once you have placed your initial search you are ... ...find exactly what you want. The advanced search options give even more exact results.
When purchasing goods from auctions, I have found the process very simple. You place your bid for the good and you are informed via email if you have been outbid or if you have won the auction in question. The seller then contacts you with payment details. One feature I especially like about this service is the Rating facility. This allows buyers and sellers to ...

Advantages: Easy to use, FREE, FUN Disadvantages: SOME PEOPLE NOT TRUSTWORTHY!!
Ok, here goes, I have been with Yahoo for some time now, as well as other sites like ebay and aucland, but still use Yahoo most frequently. I find it so easy to use. The auction is free to anyone, as long as you register. I use it for both buying and selling and never realised it could be such fun. I was absolutely terrified of buying on the internet but the sellers at yahoo put my mind at ease, My first transaction was gr8. I have had a few bad ... ...great. The transactions are fast and friendly and people don't mind waiting if you have a problem as long as you let them know.
There is a rating system that allows you to rate each transaction, this really helps as it lets you know who you can trust. Also the escrow system puts some people's mind at ease, as the customer can send the payment and once the escrow gets it, the seller will send the item. I myself use Nochex as it is so easy and the ...

Advantages: Free service, good range of items Disadvantages: Not as efficient as Ebay
Well, there are a lot of online auction sites around now and most people are probably well aware of Ebay as one of the largest and most well known. However, among Yahoo's many different services they also have an auction site which I have tried briefly but am not so taken with. The one factor they have in their favour is that for sellers no fee is charged for listing and selling your item whereas Ebay charge a minium of 15p depending on the price ... ...if you are having trouble getting your desired price for an item. I've dabbled with the Yahoo auction site but I am afraid it doesn't grab me. It looks and operates very similarly to Ebay with many different categories to buy and sell in - virtually everything is catered for from Cds, videos and toys to stamps, autographs and household goods and everything in between. A search facility should help you find what you want easily as long as you are ...

Advantages: It's Free, Easy To Use Disadvantages: Not a big user base
One of the things the internet has taught me is that one man's crap is another man's treasure. That's where online auctions have come into play, when I think of all the stuff I've sold over the years I'm also inclined to think of how much more money I could have got by selling it via an auction site. The dominant force in online auctions is undoubtedly Ebay, their user base is by far the biggest which means that you have far more chance of selling ... ...Ebay do charge you for the service and that's all well and good if you know that you're going to sell your item. Thank's to my Dooyoo opinion in Ebay I was actually switched on to yahoo auctions by another user. This is an auction site with some advantages and disadvantages. The primary thing in Yahoo's favour is that they don't charge you for the service they provide. Your listing is free, there are no selling fees and you literally do take the ...
