Ok, here goes, I have been with Yahoo for some time now, as well as other sites like ebay and aucland, but still use Yahoo most frequently. I find it so easy to use. The auction is free to anyone, as long as you register. I use it for both buying and selling and never realised it could be such fun. I was absolutely terrified of buying on the internet but the sellers at yahoo put my mind at ease, My first transaction was gr8. I have had a few bad customers but then not everyones perfect, the majority though are great. The transactions are fast and friendly and people don't mind waiting if you have a problem as long as you let them know.
There is a rating system that allows you to rate each transaction, this really helps as it lets you know who you can trust. Also the escrow system puts some people's mind at ease, as the customer can send the payment and once the escrow gets it, the seller will send the item. I myself use Nochex as it is so easy and the money goes straight to the person you want it to go to, you have a reciept sent to your email and that way the seller cannot say you're payment didn't arrive. If you are a seller it is best if you make up a few of you're own rules, for example: the item will be kept for 10 days and if payment isnt recieved without a reasonable explanation then the item will be resubmitted, you should make this known on your auction pages and the prospective buyer then has been told and knows what to do before they bid. Being a buyer is sometimmes frustrating, especially if you send a payment and it doesnt arrive, I always insist on sending either a cheque or using nochex, as this way if the payment by cheque doesnt arrive then you can cancel it easily, umlike a postal order or cash. The best way to enjoy the auctions is just to beware, keep an eye out and use your head, if someone has 1 bad rating then chances are they've made a mistake, but if someone has over 10 bad ratings my advice is to stay clear!! I have made some cash from things id normally just throw away, and some one else has bought something they may have been searching for. If you want some easy cheap shopping then visit yahoo. GOOD LUCK

Hi Amy a tad brief but promising opinion. I prefer ebay to yahoo as I've just been ripped off by a buyer and they don't care at least ebay gives you protection from dodgy sellers ans will cover your costs above £15 which is worth the fee's in my opinion.
