I had been with Yahoo Auctions for a long time before they announced that they were closing their service and by that time I had built a rating in excess of 325 and had dealt with both buying and selling comfortably.
I found auctiontown by accident and although the number of auctions seemed small in comparison to others, thought that I would give it a go. The main reason for this was that it was free to both buyers and sellers - so doing both meant ... ...liked about the site was the way it structured the auction categories into street names. However, the novelty soon wore off as I quickly found it difficult to find what I wanted without using the search function. This did perform adequately and may have got a higher rating if the items I searched for were actually on the site.

Advantages: Nice shade of blue! loads quicklly Disadvantages: Very little for sale
It seems everywhere you look on the internet these days theres an aution site and whilst this one is very quick to load and easy to navigate there really is very little for sale and nothing that really draws you in. If you compare it to QXL or Ebay then I would estimate that 1% of the people that use these sites use auction town, theres no real gimmicks such as QXL's £1 specials to make you want to come back. I haven't seen it advertised anywhere ...

I have visited this site a few times in the last few months, unfortunately i seem to be the only person that does. It only has a very small number of items listed (i mean very small) although there is obviously space for a hell of a lot more items. This means you have to navigate your way through the rather confusing site layout, the subjects are given ambiguous road names which means often you end up spending a lot of time trying to find the catagory ... ...however give you chance to see that there is next to nothing listed on this site. This has an obvious capacity to be so much more, there is everything that other auction sites offer except the thing it really needs - members. Those behind this site should at least put some special offers on the site to attract visiters but no there is nothing here. My advice is to avoid this site or you'll end up wasting time with the phone bill going up all the ...
