**How Does It Work**
The baba sling works using two buckles that go around your back and a hammock style piece of material that your baby just slides into. You put the sling on first and adjust the straps so that they feel cofortable before ... ...(which at first you will definitely need two pairs of hands to do) in whichever posistion you want. baby can sit facing into you, on your hip, legs in facing out, on your back or lying down, there are differnt variations of each of these. It does come with a leaflet explaining how to use it.

**Packaging** The sling comes in a white and purple box which has a clearbit on the back so you can see the colour of the sling inside. The front has a picturewith a woman holding her baby inthe sling. On one side there is drawings of the 8 different posistions for carrying. Then you put your baby in (which at first you will definitely need two pairs of hands to do) in whichever posistion you want. baby can sit facing into you, on your hip, legs in facing out, on your back or lying down, there are differnt variations of each of these. **Pros** My daughter loves being carried but she is very heavy, this sling puts no strain on my back like others have done. It is machine washable so great for kids. It can be adjusted so easily fits me or my husband. Sky gets to see evrything that is going on in the world so she doesn't feel like she is missing out. I feel very close to her and it is helping the bonding process. Great for squeezing into busy shops etc good for when we don't have any room in the car for the big pram. Also comes in loads of different colours, lilca, khaki, dark blue, black, cream,red and my one which is pink
**Cons** The first time i used it, it was quite difficult to figure out what to do as the instructions are quite vague. It also requires two people the first timeas you have no idea what to do! That is my only moan!
**Cost** These are quite expensive at £40 but i got mine from TK Maxx for only £19.60!!! Which is what i spent on a crap carrier. So if you can get it from TK Maxx i would advise you to buy it, otherwise you might need to ask for it for a gift as it is quite expensive!

My first forray into baby carrying was a nightmare. Neither me, or my baby, were comfortable. He always looked squashed up, and my back hurt after a 2 minute period.
The Baba Sling however is a fully adjustable sling which can be adapted to most carriers. It is heavy duty cotton, with padded guiderails to support the baby. The range of colours means that I have found a carrier that I like, and that my husband ... ...for each use.
The Baba Sling comes with a small booklet detailing all the possible carrying positions. It should be possible to use it for toddlers dependant on weight. The sling doesn't need oragami skills to change the carrying position, you just adjust where it lies, or how you position your baby.
I managed a 3 mile hike with this sling, and had no back or hip pain afterwards. My son must have been comfortable - he fell straight asleep. ...

I found this sling whilst browsing in Mothercare. I liked the idea of being able to have my baby close to me so bought it. Unfortunately, I couldnt seem to get the position right for my son when he was young. He hated the lying down positions and always seemed very squashed. I initially gave up on the sling but came back to it when he was a bit older (around 2-3 months) and had more neck control. By then he could try out a different position where ... ...see what was going in. This seemed to work although he would only stay like that for short periods. I, however, never felt entirely safe. I am still unsure whether it was because I didnt have him in correctly or what but I always felt I stil had to have my arms around him which in a way defeated the purpose. I would say that this is a fiddly sling to use with lots of different positions and I didint find it easy to adjust it for me then for my husband. ...

i found the babasling whilst browsing in a baby shop and it is fab!
The babasling is made from thick cotton and is well padded in all the right areas. it comes with an instruction booklet which was a little difficult to understand the diagrams, but after studying it for ages i began to get the hang of it. It helps to try the babasling out with a teddy or doll first as it does take a bit to get the hang of it. The babasling comes in a wide range ... ...colour to keep in in when not in use.
The baby can be put in a variety of positions and is suitable from 'birth to independence'. it is washable and has a convenient pocket attached.
It is perfect for travelling, no pushchair to fold and unfold, perfect for going on public transport.
It can be adjusted for your size and comfort. my little boy loves being in it, close to me and with the motion when i walk, sends him off to sleep. its cosy and comfortable ...

Advantages: easy to store and clean. A hands-free alternative to a pushchair. Disadvantages: Complex and uncomfortable.
On first glance this sling appears to be very simple, the instructions are clear and I appreciated the benefits of carrying your child in the ways the company suggest e.g. encouraging face to face contact. However I would strongly recommend practicing a lot with this item before leaving the house. Even when I was convinced the sling was adjusted correctly, it never felt completely secure. I found that despite the additional shoulder padding the strap ... ...comfortable. It was a better alternative than a pushchair in busy areas and during peak shopping times as a pushchair can be cumbersome. Also you have to think of the weather as my little one got very wet once as there is no protection from the elements.
Despite the company recommending use with the sling way beyond the early years, I found that as the weight of baby increased the more uncomfortable it became. I appreciate that the difficulties ...

I bought this as an aid to breast feeding in public when my baby was only 2 weeks old. This was great at first, but once my baby got longer (he is a very long baby) we struggled to use it. It seems like my little one is squashed up, but still great for discreet nursing on odd occaisions whilst out and about.
