Wow, where do I start with Babycentre? I'll start with how I came across it and came to love it.

Advantages: Factual, lots of information Disadvantages: Too much information and too deep, not very comforting tone
I was looking for some information on morning sickness. Got to babycentre which is always recommended as the best pregnancy site and I was simply inundated with information. All I wanted was a little information but instead I had to keep picking a bit to read and then going back and reading the next bit. I guess my moan is about the structure of the site and the way the information is so deep and not easily found. Once I had found the right information, ... ...and excited (OK morning sickness might not be something to squeal about but still), but when I read the article I heard it in my head as a rather mundane voice. Grenerally the site is good and I can see why people recommend it but I think they could be a bit more sympathetic and emotional. ...

Advantages: A one stop shop from pre conception until your child is a toddler Disadvantages: Addictive but incredibly fun!
I am pregnant with my first child, and i can conifrm it is a nail biting experience. The most exciting times of my life. When you fall pregnant people are constanly telling you their own pregnancy stories, and what you should and shouldn't do. I found with Babycentre, that you can get the facts and make your own decision , rather than being bombarded with controversal information from sisters and friends. The first thing i did was to set up my profile, ... ...have received weekly emails. I look forward to receiveing these every week. They provide information on How your baby is developing, from which organs are gorwing and how long your baby is, how much it ways. This is what i found most interesting. They really helped me to understand what was going on in my body and why. I can be impatient and most of the time i read what going to be happening to me in the weeks to come. Advantages: Provides a personal page and gives you weekly updates of your pregnancy and stages of your new babies life. Disadvantages: Far too addictive
I stumbled across the website by accident. I was trying to find out info on my pregnancy and googled 'Baby' and this website appeared. I signed up for a newsletter and received a personal page. When I was pregnant it advised on all the stages of my pregnancy and now it shows the stages for my baby. Babycentre has advise on info on every aspect of pregnancies/ babies and I use it regulary for this. The best thing about Babycentre is the forums. I ... ...them ago. They have forums for everything you can think of (baby related) but the best forums are the birthclubs. I joined my birthclub (for the month I was due in) when I was pregnant and I can honestly say I have made so many friends. It was fantastic to go through pregnancy with loads of other women (who knew how I felt) and then going through the births, newborn stages, sleepless nights, teething and every other problem where shared with people ...

Advantages: Plenty for everyone thinking of having children or already a parent. Disadvantages: None at all, maybe the need to post every day though?
My partner and I have decided that we may start a family soon, probably after Christmas. Not being the most health conscious of people I thought that I should get some advice about diets for mothers and fathers to be. It was while randomly Googling words connected with trying to conceive I found the babycentre.
I looked at the diet of a mother to be and found that it offered some good information, along with what and what not to eat. It also offered ... ...good tips about what to eat to optimise fertility and aid conception, and any child that may be conceived!
I went to their home page to have a look around the site and found it very easy to navigate. What I also found was information about financial situations and lists of what you really need to buy before the birth and what will do you for now if you can't really afford to.
There are sections about getting physically fit for a child and the top ...

Advantages: Site easy to follow, can chat to women at same stage as you Disadvantages: haven't found one yet
After finding out last week that I was pregnant for the second time i weas overjoyed. It is really hard when you find out your pregnant to keep it to yourself and partner you want to tell the world but you have that little voiced inside your head that says 'your nit safe till your 12 weeks pregnant'. Yes, obviously my parents wil know before then but i still want to tell my mates and work colleagues.
Along comes babycentre with its message boards- ... ...to women with baby's due the same month as yourself. At last I could tell people, they don't me and they are doing the same as me so they won't tell me to keep quiet till 12 weeks. If you are experiencing any problems in your pregnancy you can post the question on the message board and you can guarantee that someone will be able to answer and put your mind at rest.
