Advantages: Barely acceptable level of service for house bound people. Disadvantages: Unacceptable level of service for anyone else.
OK, the tree was bare-root and should have had a little (1-3ozs) of moist peat around it make certain it didnt dry out, but otherwise the raspberry canes were well packed.. In fact, the armour plated cardboard packing was way OTT. About twice the size it needed to be. Should I complain, well yes, coz I'm paying for it ! A thick (multilayer - veg type farm) paper bag should have been sufficient, with a little corrugated card for extra support as needed. ... ...completely unacceptable unless you are permanently at home all day long every day. The average house/flat nowadays cannot have post left out and few have neighbors they can trust or who will be able to guarantee to be there to accept themselves. Thwere is a risk, if you say leave with a neighbour then it could get left with that merchant banker form London who visits his "second home" one a month, if you miss him, what then? Back in early May of this year my daughter, Erin, was just recovering from major surgery and a hospital stay and I was still having time off my work to care for her. Having some spare time on our hands, with the weather getting slightly warmer and Erin desperate to get out into the fresh air again we decided to do some gentle pottering about in the garden, just to try and get it looking a bit more respectable for the summer (although the summer never ... ...tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers in our garden but Erin wanted a couple of fruit trees.
