The online BBC Bitesize website is very good for learning the basics very quickly. The website covers all areas of every syllabus and prepares you for your GCSE exams no matter which exam board you use.

The website is very easy to use and navigate around. The website covers the following subjects:

>Business Studies
>Design Technology
>English
>English Literature
>French
>German
>Geography
>History
>ICT
>Mathematics
>Music
>Physical Education
>Religious Studies
>Science: Biology
>Science: Chemistry
>Science: Physics
>Spanish

In each subject area you will find the subject is broken down in to around 4 - 8 sub-sections. In each sub-section are more sections which contain a PowerPoint type presentation whereby you must read through the pages at your own pace. At the end of each section, there is a small test with 10 questions. These are very basic but at least you can see how much you have remembered and what areas of the subject you need to cover again.

All of the subjects are interactive which is nice as it keeps you interested for longer. There are also some short video presentations on some of the harder parts of the syllabus. These are ok but are kind of hard to see what is going on unless you have a broadband internet connection.

The website also gives you the opportunity to send your questions to teachers. This is very useful but I think that asking your teacher one on one in school is much better as things are easier to explain with speech rather than with text.

A good point about the website is the talk section. The talk section is a forum for students where you can ask questions or share your dilemmas with other people in your position. This can help you to relax and realize that you are not the only person with a particular problem.

Overall the website is very informative and helpful for learning the basics. I still believe that asking a teacher is the best option, but if that isn't possible, then this is the next best thing.
