Advantages: As a newbie's guide to developing psychic abilities, this course does an excellent job !
Disadvantages: Chakra cleansing could have been handled more comprehensively .  Also, only a day each is devoted to discussing psychic tools such as Runes, Tarot, Numerology, or Dowsing .

Recommend to potential buyers: yes

The self-development industry leaves no stone unturned in its quest for tools and products that promise to develop one's potential as a human being. "Be Psychic" is one such course, neatly structuring and packaging subjects that are usually considered to be in the realm of the fantastic and the esoteric.

In order to understand the product and this review properly, let us first understand what being "psychic" means, at least within the boundaries set by the "Be Psychic" course. Whatever else it is, let us be assured that doing this course will not make us eligible for the post of teacher at Hogwarts or be honored by the venerable Dumbledore. Nor will it enable us to walk on water or put at our disposal a carpet that can fly us to the mall or to any place of one's fancy - as the tantalizing title of this review suggests -, and eliminate our dependence on the oil-producing nations (and thereby also eliminate a lot of the accompanying, avoidable politics and headache).

If you were indeed attracted to this review due to the tantalizing title, and if you feel let down by my confession above, now is the time to point your "Ollivander" wand on the little 'X' sign that "you know who" has provided us. :)

:)

Thank you for continuing to read. Gracias.

No, this course should be taken as the stepping stone to becoming a psychic, which is, at the core level, developing one's sixth sense. Developing the sixth sense, also known as intuition, is the foundation on which this course is based. Once this is developed, the entire world of spirits and angels and spirit guides should begin to open up before you.

In keeping with the tradition of the prevailing pop, instant-nirvana culture, the course claims to make you a psychic in eighteen weeks flat. That is about four and a half months. This is an exaggeration, of course. The first book itself should take about that much time, if followed through with diligence and discipline.

Here are the details of my purchase:

Site where I ordered the course from: http://www.short10.com/?c=bpsychic.
Price: USD 99.95.
Delivery: After paying through credit card, I received the package in my mail on the sixth day.
Content of the course: I received a set of three CDs that had the following content:

1. One book per CD. Each book contains material for six weeks. One page to be read per day throughout the six weeks; which means each book comprises 42 pages.
2. A special audio file that can be used along with another self-development product, known as Subliminal Power (This product can be bought from this site: http://www.short10.com/?c=rvis-subliminal. I have reviewed this product on Ciao here - http://www.ciao.co.uk/Subliminal_Power__Review_5612186).
3. Fourteen audio tracks focusing on different exercises of the body and mind; each taking you a step closer to developing the sixth sense.
4. Four software tools:
i. Visualization Station,
ii. Meditation Station,
iii. Intuition Machine and
iv. Color Wheel.

Besides the CDs, I also received a welcome email that pointed me to the following (I was almost going to delete this mail!):

1. Two self-hypnosis sessions that I could download for free from this website: http://www.short10.com/?c=rinst-hypno . I downloaded "Increase your Intuition" and "Chakra Balancing" from the site.
2. The welcome email also pointed me to three PDF Ebook downloads:
a. Advanced Memory Course
b. 404 Self-improvement tips
c. How To Get The Truth Out Of Anyone
All the three books are excellent must-reads. I gave them away to my bunch of students who thoroughly enjoyed them.

As mentioned by me earlier, each book has roughly 42 pages, each page meant to be read word-by-weighty-word, thought upon, assimilated, and put into practice in one day. A 42-page book sounds easy, doesn't it? Something that you can finish off while sipping your high tea? Nah. If only being psychic were so easy.

For the newbie at least, it behooves that the suggestion of one-page-read everyday be followed. Actually, after reading one page, it is best to mull the contents of the page, assimilate what has been said, implement it over the next few days; before going on to the next. By doing so, you let the book and its concepts slowly grow on you; for the hardened cynicism about things-psychic do take some time to erode. When the mind begins to open up to the possibilities that the pages of the first book keep teasing you with, the journey through the second and the third books become interesting, more enjoyable and more worthwhile.

What are the contents of the three books? Without playing the spoiler or giving the contents away, here are brief sketches of what the pages comprise:

- Book One: Prepares the newbie for the journey ahead. Concepts such as becoming aware of one's five senses, chakra cleansing, meditation, breath and mind focusing, psychic protection and "psychic formula" development, et al are discussed. The reader is made aware of the general intuitive feelings that always lurk beneath the threshold of consciousness - whether or not they acknowledged them hitherto fore. Terms such as "clairvoyance", "clairaudience" and "clairsentience" are introduced gently - by the end of the six weeks, you begin to mouth them very casually yourself! And when you begin to mentally associate day-to-day experiences with what you have read in the pages of the book, you know that the subject is indeed growing on you!

- Book Two: This brings on the heavy stuff. It was mind-blowing to know that plain-vanilla visualization comes in different flavors! Besides visualization, Auras and Angels and Spirit Guides, Telepathy, Psychometry and Psychic Criminology, Psychic Healing (including distance healing, and healing of pets and animals), Clairvoyance and its different types, Mediumship and Channeling, and conducting Séances etc - are introduced and elaborated. What exactly is the difference between an Angel and a Spirit Guide? This book provides the answer.

- Book Three: As if Book Two wasn't enough, this book talks about still heavier stuff. Astral Travel and OBE ("Out-of-Body Experience", for the uninitiated) are discussed and the subtle technicalities of astral projection are presented here. Week Two in this book is devoted entirely to a "psychic toolkit", comprising techniques such as dowsing, numerology, channeling, tarot cards, automatic writing, Runes, Scrying, and the like. I won't be surprised if you come away overwhelmed with it all! The book delves even deeper further, taking you to the realms of psychic dreaming, psychic communication, and psychic problem-solving and psychic assistance. Whew.

The three books keep alluding to the sound tracks that come with the course; they must be followed at the right time in the course and with the proper frame of mind if you have to take full advantage of what is on offer. The books also point your attention to the four software tools: Visualization Station, Meditation Station, Intuition Machine and Color Wheel. At first glance, you will laugh at these tools, for they appear to be silly, childish toys. But look at them again when the books tell you to look at them, and your entire perspective changes!

The course is quite open, honest and frank about the answers to the following questions which inevitably pop in one's mind:

Q. Can the psychic powers be used only for one's good, and not for evil?
Q. Can developing psychic powers enable you to travel from one place to another, say from your home to the shopping mall, astrally, without using your car? Or you just think about your beloved one who is vacationing on a cruise ship, and voila! You find yourself standing next to them the next moment?
Q. Will developing psychic powers help you to look into the future and predict, for example, who the next President of the United States is going to be? Or tell us when the share market is going to rise? Or give away the next jackpot Lotto number?
Q. What about the negative, evil, the dark-side, the Sith - the spirits that one may encounter during psychic travels? How to protect oneself from being harmed by such powers?

What I liked about this course? It is a refreshing new angle of looking at oneself and one's self-development. Whether you desire to advance to the stage where you can hold your own Séance or not, this course helps you gain valuable insights into serious subjects that you may have up until now simply pooh-poohed self-righteously. The least that you can gain from doing this course is take charge of your life. Your intuitive powers begin to become sharper over a period of time. You become aware of new sensory perceptions that you didn't know existed. Different sights. New aromas and smells. Sounds that passed you by without registering in your mind now make their presence known. Your sense of taste becomes sharper. The sudden breeze that bristles at the hair on your knuckles takes on a different meaning. The "a-ha" insights and creative ideas in a workday increase in frequency. Perhaps your boss begins to be impressed by the qualitative jump in your inputs and depth of vision. Your opinions and counsel begin to be more sought after. With increased responsibility also comes more perks; more moolah in the bank; more overseas trips to exotic locales ... ah, the increased responsibilities! Who knows? One day you just might get in touch with your own Spirit Guide.

One area that I felt the book was a tad weak was in handling chakra cleansing. I have a different opinion on how to go about chakra cleansing. I will post an article on my blog on my take on the cleansing process, and point to it as an addendum to this review when it is ready.

My tips for doing this course:

Tip 1: I have mentioned it earlier, but it bears repetition. Do not rush through the books. Take one page at a time, especially if the concept being presented in that page is new to you. Practice the techniques outlined in each page diligently and to the best of your abilities. Let your intuition guide you when you are ready to advance to the next page.

Tip 2: Book One discusses Meditation. If you are meditating for the first time in life, then this is how you do it: Set aside 10 minutes everyday for meditation. Gradually increase it to 20 minutes, then to 30 minutes, and try to maintain an optimum level of 60 minutes of meditation everyday. Even after the course is over.

Tip 3: Keep a logbook by your side. Write down your experiences during each exercise in this logbook. Be concise and objective. What you thought. How you felt? Do it religiously throughout the course.

Any success stories that I can share? I discussed the course with about a hundred colleagues over a span of three months. A majority of them dismissed it outright. Another majority acknowledged that the idea of developing psychic skills through a well-structured and systematic process holds merit, but took no action. About twenty bought the course for themselves.

It is one year now. The people who dismissed it outright are still where they are. The fence-sitters continue to sit on the fence. Amongst those who bought the course, a friend developed her psychic skills to get over the trauma of her second divorce (one kid). She says she now knows exactly why she had to go through the catharsis of two broken relationships. (Yes, those are her exact words.) She wanted to make sure that her choice is more informed and correct the third time. She went through the course; that was about six months ago. She turned down two offers from eligible men; whom earlier she would have fallen for, lock stock and barrel. The latest news is that she is seeing somebody who was introduced to her by a mutual friend - and that the two are hitting it off rather well. Is it the placebo factor playing out? Or is it her newly-developed intuition giving her deeper insights about this brand new relationship? Whatever it is, I look forward to the formal announcement of her wedding, and I wish her well.
