Hold on I thought the BBC was a public service broadcaster? Whats all these adverts suddenly all over my screen? If you've ever tried to search up the BBC no doubt you'll have come across the commercial arm of auntie's cash cow. Pratically everything BBC related (or could be) is stashed in this site available to buy.. pretty much similar to the Ragdoll Productions shop in Stratford! I guess the bad thing is that you can't play with them :( Anyway ...

You’ve heard of the BBC now check out their site beep.com. Let me be honest I thought it would be a lot of conservative jargon, i.e boring bland and I didn’t think I would spend so much time on the site. But, it’s a very good site and they’ve done a good job on the homepage and the content. Beep.com provide a really good shopping portal but products which have been recommended by the site . Their results are good and accurate ...
...They have a very good search engine which allows you to compare prices by Video’s & DVD’s, CD’s, Books and even Plants. Then you can conduct a sub search by title, star or by directory. Just enter your key-word and GO. I was quite impressed with the results and most of my book searches where very accurately matched up, and there was a good range of prices and good savings which I was able to make as a result. Beeb.com is a website run by the BBC and is basically a shopping directory with a whole list of all repatable companys selling everything from Insurance to Aftershave. I took a look at the BBC website and followed the links to it's shopping channel and as with everything internet that the BBC does it was excellent. The beeb.com is the BBC's commercial site. It has a whole host of information on just about every subject you can think of. If you could think of the BBC running a department store with all its expertise and knowledge the this would be the result.
