I purchased this style and make of lead for several fundamental reasons. Although Millie, our Yorkshire terrier is small, she is very energetic and due to lack of training, came to us having poor social skills. Millie struggles away from the lead with each exercise period.

In fact, we needed to invest in a harness due small dogs having delicate throats and necks; with a harness, if the dog pulls on it, there is less of a chance of injuring the neck. The issue of comfort is very important, as a pet's exercise regime should be an enjoyable time. The quality made bridle leather is one of the most comfortable materials to wear next to the skin, and with the added design feature of rolled leather adds to the feel good factor. Also, it is ideal for dogs with long or 'rough' hair, as it does not cut or catch on the coat. Millie would prefer the freedom to roam but doesn't resist this neat dog-friendly leash!

This leash makes walking our dog easy, she tends to pull away but the strong leather design restricts bad behavior without being harsh or uncomfortable. The leads are compatible with most similar width collars that have a simple ring connection. The Length of the black leash I chose is a practical 4 feet with a width of 5/8 inch and connects to the harness' sturdy ring by the leads brass trigger hook.
