Advantages: A great betting website Disadvantages: Can become addictive
I'm sure most of us out there love a cheeky flutter every now and again. However, myself included, many find going into the bookies an intimidating thing with in filled with either old blokes or chavs playing the roulette wheels. Being a big sports geek, I solely use the sports section of the website but there are areas dedicated to casino, a specific poker section and 'games' which include things like virtual football and greyhound racing. In my cynical viewpoint however, betting of 'virtual' football is even more of a risk than real-life as the odds or results can be fixed so the majority of people lose out. In my cynical viewpoint however, betting of 'virtual' football is even more of a risk than real-life as the odds or results can be fixed so the majority of people lose out. I'm not saying that's what happens, but it would make sense to make money!!
The sports section of the website is massive and extremely in-depth. The sports are listed on an index on the left-hand side and include...
American Football
Australian Rules
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing/ufc
Cricket
Cycling
Darts
Gaelic Sports
Golf
Greyhounds
Horse Racing
Ice Hockey
Formula 1
Motorbikes
Nascar
Rally
Rugby League
Rugby Union
Snooker
Soccer
Speedway
Tennis
Virtual Sports
Volleyball
Alpine Skiing
Biathlon
Cross Country Skiing
Nordic Combined
Just a few then! (Apologies for the long list but I've simply copied it from the website or I'd have been here all day!) There's also the chacne for 'in-play' betting, which I'm sure many of you will have seen the rather load advert including the man who used to be on Banzai. For those unsure of it, it's somewhat of concept for the compulsive gambler, as you can bet on anything from number of corners in a game, to the person who'll get the first point in the next service game. A very risky business...but then again, I guess all betting is.Using football as the prime example as that's where I place the most of my money, there are countless markets to put your money. From simply betting on the results of Premier League matches, you can do it on a whole number of leagues in the UK and throughout many of Europe's main leagues. Then there's other long-term bets such as who'll be promoted at the end of the season, or top goalscorers...one of my very few success tales comes from thsi last year, putting £5 on Simon Cox of Swindon Town to be top goalscorer in League One at 40/1...and of course, it paid out!
Many people often do accumulators on a Saturday afternoon, which contains betting on several games, and if you get them all correct you'll receive a large pay-out - working in a similar way to getting the Pools right. Of course, it's extremely hard to do if you bet on any more than just a few games, but the winnings can potentially be massive. To do this, you click on the games you want to bet on and select the results you fancy - the odds are provided for the outcomes. Your selections are then listed on the right-hand side of the page in your 'betting slip' - you can remove any selections at any time until you place your bet. Once you've got the games you've bet on, go to multiple bet option, and click on whichever option equates to you - for example, if you've bet on 6 games, you put your money in the '6-fold' box. It'll give you the accumulative odds as well so you can see how much you'll potentially win.
Hopefully that clears it up to some extent...obviously you need to register to the website, and to pay for bets you're required to deposit money into your account electronically. Some sceptics may see this as unsafe but websites such as this are as secure as internet banking websites. You can deposit as much as you want, or as little as £5...and if and when you've got any winnings, you can withdraw any winnings if your total is above £5. And don't worry, you don't lose any money through admin fees or anything silly like that.
For any problems you encounter on the site, or for any queries regarding bets you may have placed or would like to place, there's a live chat set-up for questions from members which I've found to be a great help. Of course, there's a massive FAQ section but you could be there all day trying to work out your problem or what you need to bet on to make a certain bet work, so the chat function will help you out no end by chatting to a member of the Bet365 staff.
As betting website's come, Bet365 is a great site. Very user friendly, advanced and with a multitude of options. The one downside is, of course, you're likely to lose money...so tread carefully. Anyone who does make money, good luck to you!
Advantages: Free bets, good odds! Disadvantages: They take your money!
...and have a little flutter, Bet365.com is my prefered online bookie. I have had an account with Bet365 for about 4months now, after I initially joined to get cashback via a cashback site.
Bet365 started life as a high street bookmakers, but these days is an exclusively online gaming company, owned by the chairman of Stoke City FC, Peter Coates. Bet365 are one of the UK's largest gaming companys, and the website has developed to now offer casino, ... ...facility.
I was very impressed when I signed up to Bet365, not only did they match my first bet up to a maximum of £25, which is fairly standard with most of the well known bookmakers, but they also offer more free bet opportunities also. For every 5 bets made on the site, they will match the lowest valued bet with an extra free bet. This offer is available up to 5 times, so for a total of 25 bets made, you can get 5 free bets back from the site.

Advantages: lots of players, weekly 5k freeroll, 100k in may Disadvantages: online poker cards aren't quite right
I've been playing poker for more years than is probably good for me and over the last couple of years have tried approximately 50 online poker clients/sites. Of those bet365 is one the few i choose to use frequently.
Obtaining the client is pretty easy, simply navigate to the bet365 homepage, click the poker link at the top and download, shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. Once installed, register ( though be warned its a prima client ... ...use the same username), they will send you a confirmation email which when clicked will enable you to access the site. Setup your account details and away you go. I would recommend having a more modern pc and a decent net connection cause sometimes the site gets laggy when lots of users are on.
Since they are primarily a bookmaking service depositing and removing cash is via the sportsbook option which is pretty straighforward and supports most ...

Advantages: Nice and easy Disadvantages: Lose all your money? Can't really think of anything major.
Now we all like a little flutter don't we? Well maybe not, but i do. The thrills, the excitement, the knowledge that even though you just lost your last tenner backing a horse (just because it was called 'Big Pat'), that you had fun doing it..................
Well, anyway, on to the point of this review. Bet365 was the first online bookies I ever tried. This was because, after a very short period of searching for the right online bookies for me, ... ...online bookies will give you a free bet or something just for signing up with them. Bet365 offered me a very attractive 25 quid to bet as I pleased! How generous! Unfortunately I'm clearly an absolute idiot, since I didn't have a clue how to sort out this free bet, and just gave up on the idea. (That's not really a fair criticism, I actually just didn't read the rules properly.)
Free bet aside, registration was great. I didn't even need a credit ...

I have several betting accounts with different bookies, and out of all of them, this is the most appauling mickey mouse company i have ever seen.
There is a betting system called arb's. This is where you can bet on all outcomes of a game and no matter what you make a profit. Nothing wrong or illegal about this, its justtaking advantage of varous odds from various bookies.
Well today, i went for a good one with a high % return. I placed £250 worth ... ...site to place a bet on the other team. After that, i go back to bet365 to print out my bets, only to see that they have changed the odds, and cancelled my bet. The odds dropped from 14/5 to 5/18. The game was not in play. As far as i am concerned the bet was placed and accepted and that is that. But unfortunatley i believe the law does not cover gambling the same way it would other transactions where an offer and acceptance takes place to make a ...
