Betting with Betfair.com

Advantages: read opp
Disadvantages: read opp

Well my next review, is somewhat different to the one's I normally do, this review is more on a gambling theme, with a detailed review of one of the biggest online gambling sites , betfair.com. Ive been a strong and solid member of betfair for over a year now, and I would actually consider myself to be a solid pro gambler, in the sense that I have had some really big, big payouts. Hopefully this informative review, will educate people about the gabling ...
...of gabling tips, whilst also aware them of the fact that gambling is addictive and that caution should always be taken when playing with money. I was introduced to betfair, by one of my cousins, who at the time was having a decent lucky streak and had won a substantial amount. Being the jobless person I was, I figured why not register and place some small bets, and with a little bit of luck accumulate a big of profit in return, and well it just so ... more

Fancy a flutter

Advantages: Set you own odds, more bets available, live betting right up to the last minute
Disadvantages: High commission charges, fees for depositing money

This is my favourite website and also the one I use most often - almost everyday in fact. Betfair, as its name suggests, is a place where you can bet on various events but they are NOT a bookmaker. The concept of Betfair is quite unusual in that you bet against other punters rather than against the bookmaker. This is called "Exchange Betting". Of course, Betfair have to make money from this so any profits you make from your betting will incur 5% ...
...I was using Flutter.com (another exchange betting website but now defunct) the commission was half that amount. Depositing and withdrawing money from credit cards also incur extra charges (2.5%) which is fair enough. Debit card transactions are free. There are plenty of markets to bet on from financial bets to sport bets. The majority of live sporting events on TV are covered. Unlike betting against bookmakers you can actually bet on something NOT ...

BETFAIR bet bet bet!

Advantages: Being able to lay aswell as back.
Disadvantages: none

Betfair.com is a player-to-player betting site where instead of pitting your wits against a bookmaker, you take on another punter. Betfair's role in the setup is to create a forum for these bets and their commision is about 5% of the winner's profits, but this can change to 3% dependant on how much you stake. The first thing you will notice when logging on to the site is just how smooth everything is: Betfair makes extensive use of Flash The home ...
...be over cluttered, although sometimes annoyingly does not appear. On the left hand side you'll find links to all the markets on which you can back and beneath this an explanation of the different types of bets offered. In the middle of the screen is the latest news which summarises some of the markets available and if you have problems with the aforementioned Flash then you'll find a link to run the HTML version of the site. Just to the right of ...

I BET you didn't expect to see me here!

Advantages: Can be a real bookmaker, good odds, bet on huge range of things, more in control than traditiondl punting
Disadvantages: Site sometimes very slow and has bee known to crash at the wrong time, potential to lose a lot if you don't know what you're doing.

If my family saw what I was writing about they’d keel over! But yes, after 11 years of waiting for my Hubby to come out of the bookies or home from the race track I’ve finally joined in! Not, you understand in the smoky shop of the gale-blown gee-gee track but from the comfort of my own armchair using Betfair internet betting exchange. I’m somewhat reluctant to recommend this here since dabbling on a site such as betfair with only ...
...in debt (lot or little depending which buttons you press!). My advice before we start is to get a punter (regular betting personage) to guide you in your initial forays. I therefore write to those with a little knowledge of betting, but hope the info herein is accessible to everyone else too! First off, what is Betfair? Well it’s an internet site on which you can place bets. Unlike the high street bookmakers, though, you are visiting a betting ...

Do sharp minds really Betfair?

Advantages: Trading, Being the bookmaker
Disadvantages: None

So what is Betfair?? ------------------------------ Betfair is what is referred to as a peer-to-peer gaming exchange, which, in everyday speak means people can bet against each other, rather than against a specific bookmaker. Why would people want to bet against each other?? ------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- People may choose to use Betfair because invariably people offer each other considerably better odds ...
...role punters relish. Cmon there must be more to it than that?? ---------------------------------------------------------- Well yes there is actually. One of the most important features of Betfair is the ability to trade positions in order to secure guaranteed profit and free up funds before a market has even closed. You trade by backing and laying, like buying and selling in Stocks and Shares. You aim to either lay low and back high or back high ...

Place your bets!!

Advantages: Simple to use, better odds
Disadvantages: Addictive, potentially dangerous

It is only in recent years that I started to gamble, and that is down to the internet. It all started when In joint a 'rewards' site, www.greasypalm.co.uk', on which there were various online bookmakes such as Coral, Bet Fair, all of which were offering free bets (plus the greasy palm reward). Also featured were BetFair and online betting exchange. Now a betting exchange is more than just a book makers, it actually allows you to become a book maker ...
...from other gamblers (not a company such a Coral), with betfair making their money by taking a percentage (typically 5 %) of those winnings. As such you can decide what odds you would like on a bet, but that bet will only be matched or accepted if another bet fair member takes it (i.e. will payout at your odds if you win or keep your stake if you loose). So this means that in many cases you can both back (bet that something will happen / will win) ...
