Advantages: Excellent sound quality, loud, good background noise reduction, long cable, comfortable Disadvantages: Ugly, a little on the expensive side
The BeyerdynamicDT100 headphones have for a long time been the industry standard headphones in sound engineering, so the DT150s, a new improved model, have much to live up to. First off, these are not small, and they aren't particularly light either. That is not to say they are not comfortable, the soft cushions fit nicely over your ears and are excellent at reducing background noise. The headband is also nice and tight, but not too much so, obviously dependant upon your head.
Neither are they the most sylish, in my opinion, in fact I would say they are positively ulgy, but I choose my equipment for performance rather than style and performance they have in spades. The bass production is by far the deepest and clearest I have heard from any headphone - it blows the competition away, simple as that. The mids and highs are also crisp ...
I've owned these headphones for a number of years now. I chose them because being in or around the music industry i knew that beyerdynamic was the industry standard. The BBC use mostly DT100's for example.
I paid i think £150 which to me was a lot of money for a set of headphones back then. I tried them on in the shop and instantly knew they were the headphones for me as they were so comfortable you didnt really know you had them on which is rare for a fully enclosed headphone.
On getting them home i played some pink floyd through them using a fairly high end home set up. The sound response was remarkable. There were things coming through from the music i had never even heard before. This being because of the very large frequency response. It was like discovering my cd collection again. I have also used them on hi-fi of all ...
Advantages: Unbelievably clean and powerful Bass Disadvantages: Old fashioned looks may disuade some buyers
with a better midrange. The mid gets a bit drowned out by the beautiful bass tones in these phones so they are definately suited to dance music. However, I have seen pictures of bands using these phones (Bloc Party) and also actors (Matt Damon) wearing them during interviews in the BBC radio studio. This means they must be goodif they are trusted at that sort of level.
Durability is immense. These are tough phones that will take a battering with breaking.
Looks arent everything and that applies here. I personally like the way they resemble old fashioned audio equipment but some will find them bulky and ugly. I really dont care what people think when they see them beucase I am in a world of pleasure when they are on.
Please buy these and support Beyerdynamic becuase they truly are a quality product and can be had for about £80 which is ...
