I frequently use a site called Furbid (Anthropomorphic, Sci-Fi and Fantasy Auctions) and while BidPay seems to present the ideal solution for sending money orders to the USA - in my experience, it's the only service filling this niche - it causes me nothing but problems.

BidPay is an online auction payment site which allows buyers to purchase money orders to pay their seller - BidPay mails off the money order for you. The advantage of this is that the seller does not need to have a BidPay account, merely a postal address. This makes it an excellent idea for UK auction buyers to pay US sellers by money order when they don't accept PayPal. At least, that's the idea anyway.

The BidPay site is poorly designed, and the payment form doesn't function correctly to enter auction site: Other. All payments have to be verified as it will ONLY work for auction payments - and it's taken me 2 attempts to get one payment through (you need to squeeze as much info as possible into "Item Description" field to let them know it's a genuine auction) and another I'm still trying (on my FIFTH attempt). It declines your card often, even when there are funds available. The site no longer accepts Mastercard, just Visa and AmEx. Even if you think you've cracked it by putting the info that got you through the verification process last time, it'll decline, I think it depends on the member of staff you get. So in summary - every time you enter an auction that's not on eBay or another large auction site, you have to prove to them that it's really an auction. Which is very difficult, since every reviewer has different criteria for "proof". Even posting a link doesn't always work. It's confusing, time consuming and exhausting.

Oh yeah, and the site frequently comes up with a 404 error while you're in the middle of processing. Which is never good, as you don't know whether you've paid or not, given the status page is often inaccurate.

Infinitely frustrating, I really recommend you try another payment method, if you possibly can, avoid using this site.
