Blue Mountain is a company specialized in Greeting Cards and Gifts.

They are based in the U.S. and all operations are web based so using their services from any part of the world is not a problem at all.

Blue Mountain offers a staggering range of cards and all of these cards are sent electronically i.e. by email and thus are referred to as E-Cards.

If you want full access to all their cards you will need to become a paid member. This involves completing the registration form and submitting your credit cards details. The cost of one year’s subscription is US$11.95. Once you have become a member you are provided one months free membership in advance of the one year. During this time you can send out as many cards as you wish and if you are not satisfied in any way you can cancel your membership and a full refund will be made.

Alternatively Blue Mountain also allows you the opportunity to send out free cards and this can be done by anyone, irrespective if you are a member or not.

The homepage, which is accessible at www.bluemountain.com is split into two sections.
The main section, which occupies three quarters of the page, is for members and provides all the relative links and card categories. The choices are phenomenal and are easily laid out into main categories and then into sub categories. It provides you with hundreds of different cards to suit almost each and every occasion and to suit most individuals irrespective of age, religion or creed. Some of these categories are; Birthdays, Fun & Games, Kids, Family, Religion, Seasons, Expressions, Celebrations & Events, Arts & Letters, Teens and finally Holidays.

A smaller section of the homepage, which occupies one quarter of the page and located on the left hand side, is for Free Cards.

As one would expect the selection for the Free Cards is limited and do not include the major categories like Birthdays and Celebrations & Events like anniversaries.
However irrespective of this the choice is still relatively good and many of the cards are quite unique and very attractive. The categories provided in the Free Cards range is; Just Because, Friendship, Stay In Touch, Love, Astrology, Encourage/Support, Extended Family, Career, Living, Music Greeting, National & Regional, Pets & Nature and finally Awareness & Activism.

I had a look at several of the free cards and was very impressed with the presentation and content. Many of these cards have a music attached and the wordings are well thought out and well associated with the card in general.

Sending the cards is extremely easy. Simply select the card of your choice. This will open up the card fully and display the text. You then need to add the receivers name and email address, then your name and email address and add or modify the text included with the card.

You are then given the option of having a copy of the card emailed to you and also the option of being notified when the recipient has collected his/her card.

Once completed an email is sent instantly. This is a fact because I tried it on myself i.e. I sent a card to myself first. The email shows your name as the sender and also shows a brief text of the message in the subject line.
The message in the email informs the recipient that you have sent the card and provides a link to click on in order to view the card.
The card is available for 90 days from the date it was sent.

Once you have clicked on the link you are taken directly to your E-Card on the Blue Mountain website.

I know that many people still prefer to send actual cards in the post and others prefer sending a card as an attachment by email.

Blue Mountain provides you with the other alternative of sending E-Cards that are easy to send and free if you choose this option. They also do not take up any space in your computer this they are web based. They are also sent instantly so these are great in emergencies.

So wether you choose to become a paid member or to use the free cards service, Blue Mountain is a pretty good choice and provides a wide range of cards with the selection being updated on a regular basis.

Check them out, I’m sure you will not be disappointed.
