~ No 'Boohooing' over this one ~
Advantages Good choice of clothes, easy to use, prices are good
Disadvantages Quality of some items
Now when it comes to shopping, I have been known to go a little overboard. I am not on par with Confessions of a shopaholic girl, but I can buy too much when I don't need it. I comfort myself in knowing I'm not alone! I have way too much clothes, however can be sensible. When I have little pennies I'll yearn for that dress I can't have, but when I can financially, I'll give myself a treat from time to time.
Boohoo.com is a womans clothing website that I came across a few months ago. I remember hearing the name or seeing an advert for the site and wanting to check it out. At the time I was always scrolling through the likes of River Island, Topshop and Miss Selfridge, three pretty well known brand names of existing high street shops. The first time I perused through the clothes laden pages of this newbie ..it was love at first sight! A girly girl at heart, I felt completely at home! Let me tell you about the website in a little more detail:~ LAYOUT AND DESIGN ~
Upon first entering the site, you'll be greeted with a nicely laid out and colourful welcome screen. Boohoos' trademark colours are white black and pink, so has an essence of cool monochrome but with a splash of the girly. The latest trends of clothes being advertised are shown off on the posing and shiny models. I think the modern and cool design of the website helps to keep surfers attention and certainly made me eager to explore.~ EASE OF NAVIAGATION ~
You can browse by category through the tabs at the top of the screen; labled women, footwear and accessories for example. 'Women' is the main tab, where you'll find any promotional pages like their Christmas shop, all clearance and sales, all items of clothing, current features (where right now the celery stick that is Victoria Beckham is being branded 'chic of the week') accessories, and Boohoo's collections, where fashionable trends of the moment like aviator jackets and Bohemian are kept together. This feature is helpful as it helps any aspiring fashionista quickly get to know whats currently hot.~ PRICES ~
A big advantage to shopping with Boohoo is the price. Very nice looking party dresses can be as little as £20 and right now maxi dresses are on offer for a tenner. Some footwear prices I would say are similar to that of New Looks collections. High heels can range from about £25 to nearing £40. There's always discounted items to browse through. There's 75% off sale items right now. A big selling point I think!~ STYLE ~
The style of clothes is very varied, but I think it offers a lot of choice and can provide a look for all tastes. The styles are kept up to date with current fashion so is often updated to keep up with the times. I don't always like what they have for sale but key pieces often jump out at me. From the look of the models and some styles I'd say its target was mainly young women, not that that should stop anyone older not having a look!~ REGISTERING WITH BOOHOO.COM ~
Registering on the website is easy and requires only a few details including email address and the address you'd like any items to be shipped to. You'll then need a password everytime you log on. You'll be welcomed back to the site upon logging on, and your 'account' helpfully stores such things as your order history, your billing address and other personal details.~ ORDERING AND DELIVERY ~
Since becoming a member of the site, I have ordered from there twice and had excellent service. I chose next day delivery which sends out your purchases in 1 working day if ordered before 4pm and cost £4.99. You also have the choice of the UK saver delivery which is cheaper at £3.99 but takes up to 4 working days. When you have clicked on checkout after placing an item in your 'basket' and are reviewing your purchase and delivery options you can then enter your card details and away you go. The process is quick clear and easy. The first time I ordered from Boohoo, I bought a skirt that was in the clearance section. Set me back only 4 quid! And a very nice grey cardigan for £8. Since then I bought a white corset top for £8. The prices are very good and is something that I was pleasantly surprised with about this website. The quality of the items is not the best but the prices I think reflect this. River Island for example I think, is very good quality but then you're paying more for the name. I've heard some people have had some problems with colours fading quickly which can be true but I try to treat the clothes well, hoping they'll be nice to me in return by lasting at least a wee wears.~ HELP ~
For help and any questions about returns and privacy policies, they have a section at the bottom where frequently asked questions are answered and contact details are provided. Boohoo also has a Facebook and Twitter page, a blog, and they are on Youtube. All in all a pretty good find and something I'd recommend to shoppers looking for something new.
Thanks for reading!xx majiggy xx (Stacey)
