(not really crying by the way lol)
I recently bought a dress from Boohoo.com which is an online fashion store. I've known about the site for ages and have browsed over the clothes religiously loads of times, but its quite rare for me to actually place an order for something. On this occassion I thought I would write a review on it as surprisingly I haven't written one yet.
Shopping Experience
The design and colour scheme of the site makes it seem most suited to young girls. The main colours are pink and black which gives it a young feel. The clothes themselves are also most suited to younger girls and women, and so is the price range, I feel. The navigation on this site isn't as good as on some sites, and when you search for things using keywords, I sometimes find that what I'm looking for doesn't come up. For example, when I typed in 'cream lace dress' some black dresses came up, and some cream lace dresses that I'd seen before on the site didn't show up in the results. But once you find what you're looking for everything seems set out really well, there is a good amount of information about each product and lots of images you can see of the product in all different angles, you can also see it being worn on the catwalk which is my favourite feature. There are also reviews that customers have written on some of the items.
Price Range
The prices on the site are really good. Everything is really cheap, for example you can get loads of dresses that cost just £10 each. There are sections for items that are: £5 or less, £10 or less, Clearance items etc. These are full of perfectly good items that are just so cheap! I love it! My favourite thing about this site is the low prices that it has to offer. There are often discount codes available to use as well, these are advertised on the site if there are any going.
Remember though that you do have to add delivery costs, but sometimes you can qualify for free delivery. The other delivery options you have are: Standard delivery - £3.95, Next Day Delivery - £5.99. You can also get some options to have it delivered to places outside the UK, but this is a bit more expensive.
Fashion
I really think that most of the things this site sells are really on trend and in fashion. Obviously like with all sites and shops there are a few things that you just wouldn't wear in a million years, but there are always loads of things that catch my eye and that I really like and would want to wear. The site has things for all the latest trends and all sorts of different styles as well.
Quality
The low price really shows in a lot of the clothes I have ordered. On the site when the clothes are modelled with all the lighting on them they look really good. But in real life a lot of them just look cheap. You really can't compare the quality with other shops like TopShop and River Island. For example, a dress I bought that looked really white on the site had a horrible yellowy tinge to it, and was see through! It looked completely different on the site.
However I did buy quite a nice cardi from here once, but that is still quite thin and seems like it won't last me any longer than a few months.
Service
I order with next day delivery and the order has always arrived on time so far. So I am pleased with the service.
Overall
Overall I have a terrible shopping addiction and truly am a shopaholic and wish I had a bit more self control so that I didn't waste so much money on clothes from this site that look good but aren't even that good! I know I will probably keep doing it but I don't really want to buy from this site again. In my experience it is very hit and miss with things looking the same on the site and off the site and four times out of five things look completely different. The service from the site is excellent though and things always arrive on time. The prices are also very good. But this is not the best online shopping site by a long stretch and I think it needs a lot of improvement.
Summary: Nothing special and the clothes sometimes look completely different in real life
