...like Shopsmart and Kelkoo. Bookbrain.co.uk is similar to these, but specialises in comparing the price of books (hence the name!).
What impresses me most about Bookbrain is that it is a very simple site to navigate through and the pages don't take a long time to download. On reaching the site you are immediately able to enter the title of the book you require, and you will have the best available price in seconds. If you are unsure of the title ... ...publisher or ISBN number.
Bookbrain searches 15 online booksellers including Amazon, BOL, WHSmith, Waterstones and Countrybookshop. The results of the search are displayed clearly, and all postage and packaging costs are listed so that you are able to judge the total price of ordering the book. The availability of the title is also shown, alongside the amount of time the book will take to dispatch. For many popular books their is also a brief synopsis ...

Advantages: Well-designed, easy to use, and excellent value Disadvantages: None - except perhaps to your bank balance
If there's a better way to find best prices for books on the web than www.BookBrain.co.uk, I've yet to discover it. While it doesn't sell direct, it provides the most accurate and comprehensive price search of 14 UK online bookshops, including Blackwells, Amazon, Ottakar's, and AlphabetStreet. The home page provides a well-designed selection of 'Our Picks' and a Top 10 of online bestsellers at up to 50% off, while other pages give details of their ... ...facility is at the top of the home page, and you can search by title (or words in), author, publisher, ISBN, or a combination of any. I tried a few sample titles which I knew to be in print from different price ranges. First I looked at one costing £6, and found that the suppliers which didn't offer it at discount had the smallest delivery surcharge. In fact, from this and other titles at various prices, Blackwells seem to sell everything at full ...

With students going back to university, most of us will be handed a very long reading and book list. Well try this site out, it labels itself ‘the smarter way too buy books’ so be smart and visit the site. I should point out the site doesn’t actually sell books but provides ‘accurate and comprehensive price search of Uk online bookshops on the web’ at the moment it searches 15 sites. The search engine is really good ... ...the book you want. You can search by:
-Title

or ISBN The matches are accurate even for the most obscure of books. I only put a title of a book in and I found it, not hundreds of matches but one so less time consuming. The other useful thing is that it’s got links to other books sites like Waterstone if you fancy having a browse.
In the price you will be told the postage and packaging, whether it is hardback or paperback, ...

Advantages: good comparison Disadvantages: not all stores represented
www.bookbrain.co.uk. This is a great site to compare prices of books at various e-bookstores. They don't actually sell books but do a price comparison (including delivery) of most books at about 12 bookstores. There really isn't much more to say about it except it made me realise that bol and/ or amazon weren't always the cheapest. I was told about it by one of my customers six months ago, and ever since I have been turning to it first whenever I ...
