Initially being unsure as to how to use the site I used her account to get a feel for the mooching process before eventually setting up my own account. In a nutshell, Bookmooch.com is an online community where members have the opportunity to give away unwanted books in exchange for points, and when ...

STOP mooching about... I want you!!
Review of bookmooch.com by kappaslappa

Advantages: Easy to use, great idea of getting rid of unwanted books,
Disadvantages: None unless someone dishonest doesnt send you a book

I bet there are lots of people like me who have got lots of books on their shelves which they have read and would love to offload into someone else. Wouldn't it be even better if you could offload them and get something in return? Like a book for a book? I joined Readitswapit well over a year ago and wrote a review about it too but got tired of the site crashing or not working, books never arriving or if they did arrive they were not in the condition ...
...resigned my membership and was left with lots of books that I had read and didn't want. Then a friend of mine recommended Bookmooch. Bookmooch is an online community which is used solely for exchanging books that you no longer want which is explained with the subtitle on the website "Give Books Away. Get Books you Want". So in that respect it is very much like Readitswapit but Bookmooch has a catchier title and the reason it is called Bookmooch ... Read review

Mooching for Fun and Profit (er, "savings")
Review of bookmooch.com by BawBaw

Advantages: A cost-effective and easy way to exchange books with other book lovers
Disadvantages: The system depends on the availability of titles

***OVERVIEW*** It's true. Mooching has become a serious part of my life. Indeed, I'm proud to belong to a large circle of moochers--all based at www.bookmooch.com, an online community dedicated to the mutual mooching of books. The concept behind BookMooch is simple: I give you my unwanted books, and you give me yours. It's a great circle of book swappers. In fact, it's a worldwide circle of swappers--unless, of course, you choose to limit your ...
...The only cost for this remarkable service is postage; that is, the cost of mailing your books to their new owners. You pay nothing for the books you receive. Such a deal, no? It certainly has been for me. I joined BookMooch this past September, and so far I've received (er, "mooched") 11 books and given away 8, with the 9th all addressed and ready to be mailed. The whole system is based on a system of points. Members earn points as follows: ~ ... Read review

Lets Have A Mooch
Review of bookmooch.com by bmthkatie

Advantages: Cheap, Great for Book Swapping - Saves Trees!
Disadvantages: Point System confusing.

...only to collect dust. BookMooch.com was founded by a man called John Buckman in 2006. Its a book exchange website which has a free joining membership and is becoming rapidly popular. So hearing about this website was fantastic for me! I can replace my books which I've read time and again for new ones, ones I want to read, ones I've never heard of but yet somehow grab my attention by the details. Its a little like Ebay or Green Metropolis, minus ...
...Points are what you use to receive books. An online Library some might say. It has a wide range of book categories ranging from Action and Adventure to Education to Pop Rock. Similarly with the range of book categories the places which the books come from are very vast also. Countries such as Morocco, USA, and South Africa have numerous books listed. The simple steps are, you put books on which you no longer want on your shelves, someone wants your ... Read review
