It was of course, that terrible marketing ploy of get 5, pay for one now...as long as you buy 6 regular proced recordings in the next 2 years..
Well, although I was pleased at the films I got (and they even gave me the truman show as an extra free one), britannia has been nothing of a pain since. You regularly need to reject your recomended recordings....miss one and you end up with it on your doorstep....and ... ...do it at the post office to get a proof of postage). Contacting them about anything is also difficult. Their phone line is a mess, if not busy, and very expensive too. You would think, therefore, that being able to control your account through their website would help immensly. You'd be wrong. The security is atrocious (you merely need your account name and postcode - all of which can be found on anything they send you!). I've often found the site ...

I got a flyer inside a magazine for Britannia Video Club, and at the time they were offering pay for one video and get 4 free, I thought this sounded good so I joined up and just paid £17.00 for one video and postage & packageing.
You have to buy at least 3 video's in your first year of joining which I thought was ok.
You get a monthly magazine to see what's new and coming soon.
However I have found that the video's cost a lot more from Britannia ... ...shop and buy one.
Britannia Video Club do send out recommend recordings (video) but you can logon to their website and tick a box to cancel it that month. It does get a bit annoying after a while keep having to remember to log on to cancel a recommend recording otherwise if you forget you end up paying for postage to send it back. ...

I received my six CD's and was well chuffed until I had to buy something else. A catologue is delivered to your door once a month and the prices in it are extortionate! Each CD costs between ... ...£1 per CD which I found very pricey, so to buy a single CD can cost over £16 that can be brought from cd-wow for £8.99 inclusive. The "new releases" also dont become available to purchase until roughly two months after general release!
As I have said I joined before I was online so I brought a few CD's then. As soon as I went online I discovered the wonderful bargains that can be had and begrudged Britannia my money!

Being a Britannia customer, I had lost m reference number and required it since I needed to get in touch with them. I was informed to visit their website, and e-mail them and they would send it to me. The site was quite good, and I was impressed, but if the service doesn’t match the standards what’s the point. Britannia are awful communicators, and I warn everybody not to get sucked into their offers. It’s a company that shouts ... ...customer care is awful. It’s asif they don’t want to know. However, once I started using the search facility the site had to offer, I wasn’t so impressed and it was quite poor. It just summed up the company really, poor quality all around. Like the site, an impressive start when you get your CD’s for a good price but from then on POOR!
I wouldn’t recommend Britannia to anyone, the initial price is good but from then ...
