Advantages: Fast, reliable, very good price for the speed Disadvantages: More for non-O2 customers
I've been on O2 now for around 5 months after swapping from BT. In that time, it has never failed on me and has been ready to us as and when I have needed it. I am an O2 monthly mobile phone customer and as a result get my service for £10 for up to 8mb. Because of the distance to the exchange, I have speed tested the line and the maximum I am supposed to be able to get is 3mb. This is what I got with BT. But having swapped to O2, I'm receiving 4.5mb ... ...correct. Sign-up - This was a pain free experience. Simply sign up on line by filling out a form, making sure that you have the MAC code from your current provider if you are transferring. They also will require a debit card to charge your account each month. Once this is done, sit back and wait to be connected. No 12month contracts. Just a rolling monthly contract although you do have to give notice to cancel. Within a couple of minutes, I had an ...

Advantages: ADSL2+ technology. Fast. Bargain for O2 mobile contract customers. Disadvantages: Supplied router could be better.
O2 Broadband was launched in late-2007 with a unique proposition for customers - fast, quality, inexpensive broadband. O2 acquired BE during that year and have based their broadband packages on BE's ADSL2+ infrastructure. All you need is a BT telephone line and O2 to have got round to installing their equipment in your local exchange.
At this time, there are very few broadband providers offering anything faster than 8Mbps (if you're lucky). O2 offers ... ...The speeds are truly phenomenal.
Nor is there a usage limit. There is a Fair Usage Policy, however indications are that they are fairly generous so long as your usage doesn't start to impact on other users.
The other important thing about O2 is they provide staggeringly good value for money. If you have an O2 mobile on a monthly contract, you'll even get £5 off. So, for example, a 16Mbps connection which is normally £15 per month (good value anyway), ...

Advantages: Fast speed, and they keep you informed on everything they do! Disadvantages: NONE!!!!
O2. Simply the best mobile network, and now, simply the best broadband. I have been an O2 pay as you go customer for about 3 months, and had the best experience i have ever has with mobile networks. I am on the o2 broadband standard, which offers up to 8mb speeds, unlimited usage, and 1.3mb upload speeds. All the other broadband suppliers i have been with have offered up to 8mb speeds, but have only received 5.5mb speeds. O2 give me the whole 8mb. ... ...even give you mcafee security suite for free. They have a very reliable adsl network, and i have had no interruptions since i joined a month ago. They also have a free technical support line, and i have only rang them up once, at 6pm on my activation date when my broadband had not been activated. They are happy, are from the uk, and do as they promise. They told me they would put my line activation on high priority, and within half and hour, my line ...

Advantages: great prices, speeds and unlimited downloads! Disadvantages: Crap router comes with their broadband packge
O2 as a company have got it sorted.
Having been a long standing o2 customer (5 years now), I still have had no issues with their service whatsoever and will continue to use them.
I currently have a contract mobile phone (£20 a month), with the perk of having o2 home broadband, 5mb, unlimited downloads a month, for only £7.50 a month!
The broadband package is by far the best I've had. They quote 'up to 8mb', and we're receiving a healthy 5mb. It ... ...service, theyw ere voted the best service provider 2008!
I download a lot of music and spend hours and hours on youtube. I download of xbox demo's from xbox live (probably 5gb a month, and never had any complain from them whatsoever. You hear about other providers cutting your cnnection speed etc due to 'unfair usage', but o2 are great!
Personally, I would scrap their router though. Use your own! It disconnected me every 30mins or so, back to the ...
