Finally a service that works!

Advantages: fast connection, cheap, good customer service
Disadvantages: none

About a year ago I moved house and one of the first things I did was call up BT and Tiscali to get my phone and broadband transferred! I am a web developer and I really can't be without the net for long.

I was amazed at what a mess Tiscali made of it. I filled in the online transfer form only to be told when I rang up to see how things were going that the form doesn't actually work and no one checks the responses anyway! So I made ...
...too. In the end it took me over two months (which they still charged me for) to get broadband at my new address.

So when i had to move again 6 months ago the first thing I did was cancel Tiscali and tell them what they could do with their 12 month contract. So after paying an eye watering amount to the gangsters know as BT to re connect the phone line (i.e. flicking a switch for £120) I started my hunt for a new supplier.

A reliable, fast service with no hassle

Advantages: Fast, reliable, very good price for the speed
Disadvantages: More for non-O2 customers

I've been on O2 now for around 5 months after swapping from BT. In that time, it has never failed on me and has been ready to us as and when I have needed it. I am an O2 monthly mobile phone customer and as a result get my service for £10 for up to 8mb. Because of the distance to the exchange, I have speed tested the line and the maximum I am supposed to be able to get is 3mb. This is what I got with BT. But having swapped to O2, I'm receiving 4.5mb ...
...correct. Sign-up - This was a pain free experience. Simply sign up on line by filling out a form, making sure that you have the MAC code from your current provider if you are transferring. They also will require a debit card to charge your account each month. Once this is done, sit back and wait to be connected. No 12month contracts. Just a rolling monthly contract although you do have to give notice to cancel. Within a couple of minutes, I had an ...

O2 broadband - a no brainer!

Advantages: Consistent, reliable, fast connection
Disadvantages: Only the fair usage policy which is unlikely to be a problem for most users

What do I want from my broadband connection? Well, good speed at whatever time of day and a reliable connection are obvious priorities. Price is also an important factor in my case. A quick search of broadbandchoices.co.uk displayed the usual plethora of providers offering me free set up, some even came with TV. The O2 standard option was the cheapest, at £7.31 a month for a yearly contract, with the first three months free. For the whole year it ...
...free wireless router. The broadband is £12.33 a month if you’re not an O2 customer, but luckily my housemate is. It’s worth noting that O2 offer other packages with increased download speed, all of which are ‘unlimited’, subject of course to a fair usage policy. == The available packages == The package I went for is called the ‘Standard’ and offers up to 8meg download speed and up to 1.3meg upload speed dependant on your location, with 100 free web ...

A SHINE OF LIGHT IN BROADBAND LAND

Advantages: great CS, easy to use, smart looking router, no problems at all in nearly a year
Disadvantages: speed could be better,

i decided that I needed to find a decent Broadband service after being with BT for a couple of years and finally getting to a stage where I needed to disconnect. As I'm an O2 mobile phone customer, I found that I could get a very good deal on a 20mb broadband speed. I pay just under £10 a month and got the first 3 months free of charge. This was compared to £21 for a 8mb connection speed on BT. So already I was winning. Installation and Connectivity: ...
...router, which actually looked quite smart, with 4 ethernet ports on the back for wired connections. This was a huge asset as my computer is in the same room as the router and I still prefer a wired connection. I also have my PS3 and Xbox 360 wired to the router. The installation was quick and I found the router interface easy to use. I have had no problems adding wireless devices (phone, PSP etc) to the wireless service. Score: 4/5 Connection: Having ...

o2 my broadband love

Advantages: everything , range services, value for money
Disadvantages: Nothing

O2 Broadband ... it seems today that everyone is reeling out a internet bradband package of somesort tesco`s , virgin (though that has been around a bit!) Anyway back to my review , i must admit i dont have a o2 mobile and i will state now that it has to be an o2 pay monthly mobile to be able to get the discount , my dad was on a money saving plan (one of his many ideas to save money) and one day when i was surfing the net as i do to waste time , ...
...that seem to just "pop" up and are no good to anyone! but this time it was for o2 broadband and me being nosy i decided to check it out so i clicked on it and was taken to the site and i spent some time looking into it and found that it all seemed in order so i showed to to my dad the packages that where on offer and the discounts that are availble are very genrours i think they are: - up to 8Meg with unlimited usage £7.50 for o2 pay monthly customers ...

Best internet provider I have ever used

Advantages: Reliable, good customer service, very good price
Disadvantages: None

Since I have a mobile phone contract with o2 I thought it made sense to take advantage of the £7.50 per month wireless broadband for existing o2 customers (having checked just now this has gone down to £7.34) I can honestly say it is the best value and most reliable broadband package I have used. I used to have my broadband with AOL (please don't do it!), when my original 12 month contract ended with AOL I asked them to transfer me onto a different ...
...off completely due to an "admin error". So I decided it was time to change providers. I phoned up o2 and got through to a very helpful lady who set the broadband up for me. As an existing customer they ask for your o2 mobile number then send you a text with a code on it and then you tell them the code you received. Within 2 weeks the broadband was active. What was nice was that o2 sent me texts when my welcome pack had been dispatched and when they ...
