I love sending flowers to people especially when it is a surprise for them. Lately, my mum has not been very well at all and because she lives over 200 miles away it has been quite difficult to get to see her so every so often I send her some flowers to cheer her up - and it always seems to do the trick.

I have ordered from quite a few on line florists in the past but I seem to keep coming back to bunches.co.uk as it does seem to be the best value with a very reliable service.

When you first visit the bunches.co.uk site the homepage does seem a bit busy and cluttered but you soon learn to find your way around. The flowers are offered in a variety of categories. Some of these may vary with the different seasons and occasions throughout the year but some do remain the same. At the moment the different categories are:
Classic value bouquets
Luxury bouquets
Autumn collection
Classic carnations
Platinum collection
Luxury Roses
House plants and
Helium balloons.

As you can probably imaging the prices vary greatly between these different categories. The least expensive flowers you can buy are ten classic carnation stems for only £9.99 whereas the most expensive I have found is twenty four red roses for £44.99! You can also splash out the sum of £199.99 which will enable you to send flowers every month for a year (which I guess is actually quite good value!).

I have to admit that I generally restrict my flower shopping to the classic value bouquets which range in price from £9.99 to just under £25. pp - so even in this range we're not looking at 'bargain basement' flowers. Within this section there is a wide variety of flowers you can send ranging from the carnations to lilies to freesias, with many more in between and of course a number of mixed bouquets. If you are sending for a birthday, for just under twenty pounds you can send carnations and a minature happy birthday fruit cake. I was also quite intrigued by the 'Help the Aged' bouquet and by clicking for more info I discovered that £4 from each purchase goes to the Help the Aged charity. This bouquet is a mixture of 'vibrant Sunflowers, mini Gerberas & fragrant Freesias complemented by white Carnations' but I have to say that I haven't sent this one to my mum in case she was a bit insulted by the title!

In all the different categories, all of the bouquets are accompanied by lovely photos so you do get a really good idea what you are getting for your money. Bunches only deliver within the UK and there is no additional charge (although the price of every bouquet does include £1.40 for delivery) - however if you want to pay for delivery on a specific date you do have to pay an extra £4.95. All in all I do think this is very good value as on other sites I've paid a similar amount for flowers and having got to the checkout I have had an additional delivery charge added on!

So what are the flowers like I hear you ask! well I have used Bunches on at least four occasions and the flowers received have been beautiful and have arrived in perfect condition. Not only that but I generally get repeorts from my mum that up to two weeks later they are still looking good so I think that is really good quality. Another lovely touch at the moment is that, regardless of what you spend, all flowers come with a free box of chocolates as well so this really does make it good value. I know my mum has been really delighted to get this extra little treat along with her flowers.

Once you have ordered from Bunches, your details will be stored which makes the next time very straightforward. They will take all the usual credit cards with the usual security measures in place so it is very secure ordering. You can also send your own special message to the recipient of the flowers. Once the order has been taken you will receive a confirmation email which is always handy in order to check your order.

Another added bonus of shopping with Bunches is that they offer their own loyalty scheme in the form of posy points! With this scheme you get 10 posy points for every pound you spend and one posy point is equal to 5 pence. This means that for every £10 that you spend you will get 50 pence off your next order which is pretty generous. And of course, you can also go through a cashback site and get more money back as well. I normally go through Topcashback (see my review on this cashback site) where I can get 10% cashback for all my purchases so this is really good!

There are one or two other areas of the site which appeal to me too. One is the 'caring for your flowers' page which has loads of useful hints about how to help your flowers last longer. There are also some lovely 'customer comments' which tell a few little stories of how the flowers were received - just a nice little extra touch!

So overall I am a big fan of Bunches.co.uk. Their service is great and for me has always been totally reliable, but they are also very good value for money. It's lovely to be able to send flowers and know that you are not being completely stung by the price. Add in the beautifulflowers, the free chocolates, the posy points schems and the ability to earn cashback by going through one of the numerous cashback sites and it all adds up to a pretty good deal!
