My 7 year old daughter has a virtual pet on "Neopets" . Whilst visiting it a little while back to feed her pet there was a link to the Cartoon Network site, so she took a look.
She has been hooked on it ever since!!. On the home page yu can select from a drop down menu the character that you want, Flintstones, Daffy Duck, Johny Bravo etc, all the cartoon network characters are there. Once you have selected the character of your choice you are taken to their page. There is then the choice of really fun stuff to do:
~Play it~ Play a game with your cartoon character. For example: The Flinstone games are bowling or fruitmachine. Each cartoon character has a different game.
~Toon it~ Watch and interact with cartoon clips. Here you watch a cartoon clip and at the end you are presented with a question. Click on your answer to choose your characters next move.
~know it~ Loads of information about your selected cartoon, first showing, makers, how many episodes, etc.
~Watch it~ Watch clips from your favourite cartoons.
It is mainly the games on the site that my daughter likes. They have so many games to choose from and all your favourite characters from Cartoon Network are in the games. You can choose from playing golf with the "Jetsons", helping "Scooby and Shaggy" through a maze and many more of your favourite games like tennis, plus they all have great sound effects too. I actually found myself playing the Jetsons golf game the other night after my daughter had gone to bed !.
Once you have chosen which game you want to play it takes a couple of mins to load, but you can then go off line and play the game for as long as you like..which is great as it does not tie the phoneline up.
I personally think that this is great for the kids as it helps them to use and understand the mouse and introduces them to the internet, which these days is skill that will always be useful.
