Cashsurfers is another one of those comapnies which pays you for the time that you spend surfing th internet. If you are alread familiar with this concept then skip the next part, otherwise..
How It Works
The concept is simple. You download a piece of software which displays a small 'viewbar' at the bottom of the screen on which are displayed banner ads. Cashsurfers get paid for the amount of ads which you are shown and return some of the profit to you for seeing them. You also get paid for referals - when you refer people to Cashsurfers they pay you a percentage of what they earn surfing the internet(this does not come out of their money).
Sounds Good?
Well the concept is a good one and always has been. The problem here is that there are other companies which do the same thing but better. Cashsurfers has a particularly unattractive ad-bar for one, something which a little bit of redesigning would cure but despite numerous updates, it just doesn't get any prettier. Nor does it seem to become more reliable. Perhaps it is just me but I often have problems logging into their server and at the present moment am unable to use the current incarnation of the cashbar at all. Another problem is the way that they pay you, the user for the time you spend. Some companies pay you a fixed rate for the number of hours that you spend on the net, something like 30 cents per hour for example. Cashsurfers have opted for the much more confusing points system where you earn a number of points for your time on the net and at the end of the month they calculate just how much those points are worth based on their earnings. Obviously if they earn a lot then so could you, but my first month meant that I received only 10 cents per hour for the time logged which is simply inferior to almost all other sites.
One advantage that this does have is that there is no limited amount of time which you an spend surfing. Other companies limit you to a period of say 20 hours per month(5 in one case which is pathetic) so your earnings can become stunted.
Conclusion
Well this isn't a bad program as such, there are just better ones out there such as All Advantage(see another of my reviews) which are more reliable and pay better. Try one of those first and use this as a back up.
Advantages: Reliable and error free bar, better than most bar schemes Disadvantages: Poor payment rates, what more can I say?
Cash Surfers is another of the many 'free-money' programs running on the web at the moment, using a 'cash bar' that shows you adverts on the bottom of the screen.
In theory it seams a great idea, the companies pay Cash Surfers to show their ads, and us users earn a bit of money. So is everyone happy? Well not quite. The pay rates are really poor, as low as 4 cents an hour and still decreasing. After nearly a year of surfing with them I have earned ... ...write home about, you can have unlimited referrals, but the rate from each is so bad, you need a lot of people before you get anything reasonable. At the moment you need to accumulate $40 before any checks are sent to international (i.e. non-US) residents, so I am a long way from it yet. The way you make money is by earning points by using the Cash bar. Every time the ads change on the bar you get 10 points. At the end of every month the points from ...

Advantages: Well run and reliable, stable bar Disadvantages: Low pay rate, only works if you get referals (and lots!)
This is a 'get paid to surf' program, or PTS for short. For those who are not familiar with these things, they involve having a bar on your desktop that displays banner ads while you are online. You then get paid based on the amount of time you spend using the bar.
Cashsurfers was one of the first of these programs created. When they started, advertising revenues were high, as many companies saw Internet advertising as a new way to get new customers. ... ...the truth: banners don't work. Let's face it, who among us has ever clicked a banner? As a result, advertisers are paying less and less, until we get to our current state, where pay rates are as low as 2 cents per hour of surfing.
Cashsurfers have not escaped this trend either. Making money just by using the bar is a futile exercise. No, the real way you earn money with these things is by getting referrals. Each person you refer earns you money. ...

Advantages: EASY TO USE Disadvantages: LOUSY PAY RATE
Cashsurfers is about earning extra money every month, by downloading and using their cash bar you earn points. At the end of the month they determine the pay rate and send you a check. But due to confirming revenue and catching cheaters it can take up to sixty to seventy five days for this to happen. Cashsurfers gets all of its money from advertisers who pay them for banner adds, clicks and filling out forms. As a member you get a percentage of the ... ...ago thinking I would make some money from it, in the first month I didn’t really use it much so I only earned 1600 points which wasn’t even enough to make a dollar. This month I have spent just over twenty hours surfing the internet while using their cash bar and I only have 25440 points, which isn’t very much when you consider that 1200 points are worth anywhere between $0.25 and $0.01 depending on the month.
When you use the ...

Advantages: Stable bar Disadvantages: Insulting payrate, inaccurate hours tracking, servers often overloaded
How on Earth do they come up with a pay rate of $0.13 an hour and expect to keep members? Do you think its worth surfing with them for 100 hours a month for $13 when there are plenty of other companies out there who will give you $60 for it? I don't. On the bright side, their bar is very stable on my computer, although a friend of mine can hardly run the bar as it crashes his computer 90% of times he tries to run it. This is yet another pay-to-surf program that I signed up for, many months ago. As ever, people were making excessive claims in order to get others to sign up using their referral codes.
The hourly payrate in October 2000 was 7 cents (US). This dropped to 4.25 cents in November 2000, and is likely to drop further. They pay up to 120 hours per month with no more than 4 hours per day. At the November payrate, the maximum monthly payout is a little ... ...decreases in hourly rates since November and so it seems almost inevitable that cashsurfers will go the same way. An hourly rate of just 1 to 2 cents may not be far off.
Even with their CashBar showing a green light for several hours during a day, I rarely reach 4 hours. Although my balance stands at about $20, I am not hopeful of ever reaching the minimum $40 payout figure, as I do well to 'earn' even $2 in a month.
There used to be other ways ...
