Finally I have found a free email with everything that I want. I can’t really remember how I found the site but basically I was fed up with the other free email services where nine times out of ten you couldn’t read your email or people didn’t get the ones you’d sent them, so I did a search and found cbfmail.com.
When you first log on to the site you’ve basically got different headings and under each it explains the different services that they offer, you can also have a sneak preview of their email system and have a look at their main features. Also on their home page there is a search facility that enables you to type any word in and search the web for it.
The main reasons I signed up are as follows: You can access your email address anywhere in the world if you have access to the Internet. You get a file size limit of 2MB meaning that you can store a lot of emails Send up to five free text messages a day from your mobile phone number (meaning that the recipient can reply straight to your mobile!) you also get another 50 free text messages per day but these don’t go from your mobile so can’t be replied to directly (still very good though). However the main feature I signed up for was the text message alert, when you receive a new email. This feature basically means that when a new email hits your mailbox it automatically sends you a text message to your mobile phone, it won’t send you another one until after the next time you log in and then the process starts again. Basically this means that you won’t get bombarded with text messages but you do still find out that you have new email, without having to check it every five minutes! I feel it only fair to point out, although this service is fantastic it has been down for a few weeks because they are upgrading the server. In fairness to the site though they have constantly kept you informed as to when it will be ready – this is now due to be the 21/01/02. The above are to name but a few services they offer, others include a chat facility and message boards but I can’t really comment on these as I have not used them.
When you have opened an account with them and you log into your mailbox you even get the chance to change the colours and customise it to the way you want.
You can add more folders to store different emails in so for example I have jobs, friends and family folders so I can save my emails separately and then quickly find them again if I need to. You also get an address book facility to save peoples email address and mobile phone numbers. There is an option to set a signature, so that all your emails get sent with the same message at the bottom of them. You can even set an auto responder, so for example if you go on holiday you can set this function to automatically respond to your emails while you are away.
I feel like I have written a lot about this site already and there is still so much more to say about it! You log in to your email account through the secure login point on the home page and the site is always very fast to log you in (except when I’m at work for some reason, but even then it’s not painfully slow). Also in all the time I have had my account I have never had trouble with people not receiving my emails, or not being able to access my account. I would recommend if you are fed up with your existing email provider you just have a look at this site, you will be really pleased with it I’m sure. Oh and finally I have had cause on a couple of occasions to email their technical support department (just about a query with text messages) and I got a brilliant friendly response within a couple of hours – something else I’ve not been used to in the past. If I’ve not included something in here that you all want to know then leave me a comment and I’ll update my opinion : )
