From time to time we all tend to lose the covers from our CD’s, DVD’s maybe yours have got lost.., the kids may have scribbled over them or mishandled them, or the dog chewed it up!!! or if like me, you make your own CD’s, then cdcoverz is the site for you!!
There are literally hundreds of free cover websites around, but I have been using cdcoverz for the last six months and find it easy and more importantly fast website to use to get all your CD covers for your CD’s. It's free, no membership required and there’s no limit to how many covers you can get.
When you enter the site there are a range of covers you may download not merely audio CD covers but also games e.g. PSX (Playstation), PC, and VCD and DVD covers. You simply type in the name of the artist you want - To take an example for illustration purposes – Madonna’s - Music you would type in this name in the search Theme and hit the search button, and hey presto! Within a couple of seconds you will be displayed with a list from the mega search. You then have the option of what part you wish to download, they are usually split into FRONT Cover, BACK cover, INSIDE, and even the CD label itself. From the list you select the appropriate artist/album and click on download. Its as simple as that!
You then have the image of the CD/DVD/game etc downloaded onto your PC and you just print whatever you want or edit it if required. There are many CD cover sites around but I have found this site fast and simple to use and the covers are the mostly the right size too, though you can always re-size your covers using any word-processing program such as Ms Word. Once re-sized it can be printed quite easily with any standard A4 printer and the images cut to size. These then slot straight into your empty CD boxes!
So what’s the downside, well as with most websites this is a free service and there are a lot of advertisements and Polls asking you if you wish to vote this site as the best site in various categories etc. You can easily bypass these if they pop up.
Remember this is a free, non-membership based site i.e. you do not have to supply your e-mail address to use the site. Another thing to bear in mind remembering this is an American site (as many are!) so make sure you download the correct CD album - as quite often the US Version and UK albums are different.
If there is a cover you cannot find then simply send them a request and they’ll get it for you, they are constantly updating the site and adding new covers. Also if you yourself would like to submit your own CD/DVD covers etc you can send the file to them and they'll add it to the database! So by ways of sharing the site grows rapidly.
Overall it’s been an easy to use site , its great! (from my experience of it anyway!)and thats about all there is say about this website.
