The search to find the cheapest, most suitable flight to your chosen destination is daunting at the best of the times, where do you start? how do you know if the price is competitive? Well cheapflights.co.uk is an excellent answer to both of the above questions..A couple of months ago, after deciding to visit friends in Calgary in the summer, I took it upon myself to book my flights online.. but with little experience I had no starting point, and was very close to clueless on exactly what to do. After a single 10 minute visit to cheapflights.co.uk however I had a list of urls and prices to base my search on.
The site is basically a directory of flight prices to almost every destination you could care to visit. The alphabetical navigational bar at the top of the screen makes the search to find the destination quick, easy and most of all, painless. After only a few seconds search time for flights to my chosen destination (Calgary) I was faced with a long list of prices and operators to choose from. The list is reasonably easy to understand, and gives you direct links to the flight operators website (if they have one) or alternatively a contact number on which to call them for more information. It shouldnt take long after viewing the list to be able to draw up a shortlist of appropriate flight operators on which to find more about. If the operators arent advertised on this site, it is pretty fair to say that they either dont exist or are not as competitive as the competition. However, the search for destinations and flight prices is not the only perk about this site, infact it has a number of other useful tools and options. The site regularly updates a list of 'Hot Deals' - the cheapest flights, offering the best value for money. This is where the real bargains are to be found, and can prove to be extremely useful when it comes to booking last minute deals in particular. Again, next to each 'Hot Deal' there is a link to the appropriate flight operator. Should you not find what you are looking for, it is possible to have regular e-mail updates sent to you, keeping you informed of the best deals available.
In addition to this, they also offer a similiar service concerning accomodation. The same alphabetical navigation for destination is used and again the most competitive prices are listed. There is also information available on whatever kind of accomodation that takes your fancy, or most suits your budget.. whether it be B&B, Self Catering or the good ole` Youth Hostels. I have yet to use tis segment of the site in great detail, but at a quick glance it seemed as simple and as informative as the flights segment was.Nowadays it is foolish to leave home without appropriate travel insurance. Again cheapflights.co.uk comes up trumps in helping you make the right choice for company which to book through. The range of providers available is vast to say the least, easy to search through and has the appropriate links for if and when you care to find out more information.
Other features to this site which I have not yet looked at include the buttons directing to Car Hire, Short Breaks and Cruises. But I have every confidence that they will be as informative and useful as the other areas of the site have proved to be in my experience. The site itself uses nice colours, is easy on the eye and has a customise option to help change things to help suit your particular screen size. The navigation is simple and for a site with such a wide database the search facility is reasonably quick.Perhaps the only disadvantage to cheapflights.co.uk is the lack of direct booking possible through the site itself. But then again, it has not been set up for this purpose, but instead as a directory for other companies to advertise their prices and hopefully sell themselves to you through. It doesnt disappoint at all in this area, and has proved to be the perfect starting point in my search for the perfect flight operator. Through the site I found the operator I eventually booked through, would I have booked with this company if it had not been for cheapflights.co.uk? Who knows, but either way, I am sure my search would have been much longer and more tedious in the long run.
