When my 13 yr old son said that he wanted to go to a chat room I was worried. I had heard so many stories about unsuitable material that I wanted to find a site that I was happy with.

One place that I was sure wouldn't contain inappropriate language etc was a Christian site and as my son does go to church at least he would have something in common with the other users. After a fair bit of searching I found christianchat, and I have to say I was very pleased with it. The users do not "bible bash" but have good normal friendly conversations.

There are various different rooms including theological debate if you do want to discuss your beliefs, but my son just goes to the Teen room. They actually don't discuss their beliefs that often but chat about normal teen interests like music etc. He has since made some very good friends and enjoys his time there immensely.

My son is the only one in the family who goes to church but I too have enjoyed chatting to the other people there. You don't have to be a Christian to go to Christianchat, if you just want to make friends, have a decent conversation and a good time without the hassles that some other chat rooms have this place is ideal. I would especially recommend it for parents who are worried that their children may go into unsuitable chat rooms.
