• BACKGROUND ON CINEWORLD.
The company have multi screen cinemas in several towns near to where I live. I have visited their sites in Milton Keynes, Luton, Huntingdon and Stevenage. Those four cinemas alone – covering four seperate counties, must have a catchment area of well over 250,000 people. While on my travels, I’ve also enjoyed a movie at the Cineworld in Chesterfield.
All of the complexes have one thing in common – multi screens, yes, but also they are situated on an out of town Retail or Leisure Park. Thus making it easy to have a ‘night out’ and take in a film then maybe find a restaurant to have a meal and even hit the ‘club’ scene afterwards.
• WEBSITE FEATURES
One thing you notice right away is the easy to use interface of cineworld.co.uk. Bright colours abound with a list along the left hand site to navigate the site – while right in front of you is ‘This weeks Releases’ , ites of our Cinemas’, ‘News’ and ‘Film of the Week’. So it is very straightforward just to click on any of the towns shown and get details of how to get there and the listings of the films showing this week.
There is a section for you to put in your email address and be puit on their mailing list. I cannot vouch for what you get for this – I assume, film news, upcoming releases and maybe special offers. It is obviously not just for members only though. You can freely navigate the site, searching for details of your favourite film (don’t expect this to rival IMDB though – the details are merely perfunctory and relate to current films), even currently click on a link to see a film trailer from the new ‘Harry Potter’ film (don’t all rush – it’s not released till November).
Like I said, along the left hand side of your screen is a navigation bar. It contains links to – Showtimes, Coming Soon, Bollywood (for all you Asian movie fans), Movies for Juniors, Competitions, Press/Corporate, FAQ, Email Us. Just click on Press/Corporate for a moment and you get to see photographs of the various Cineworld cinemas in the chain, plus background to the company’s development and future openings.
The site is best viewed with Shockwave installed – although not essential and as well as being able to view film trailers, there are screensavers and movie ‘wallpaper’ available free for you to download for your PC (just click on ‘Multimedia’ link).
• FEATURES OF CINEWORLD
One of the main features of the Cineworld cinemas is the provision of a ‘Deluxe’ screen/auditorium at many of their sites. This is priced at around £7, just £2 more than the regular priced screens (don’t forget each complex usually has around 10-15 screens!). The ‘Deluxe’ experience includes extra comfortable seats, extra leg room, and a service table for every two seats. It also features a licensed bar and special snack menu with waiter service to your seat or at the bar. Real ‘state of the art’ cinema going!
There are currently 23 cinemas open from as far north as Falkirk in Scotland, Llandudno in Wales, plus Wakefield, down to Weymouth in Dorset and the Isle of Wight. Several new openings are also planned for this year.
• BRIEF SUMMARY
Very user friendly website – extremely go ahead company and comfortable state of the art Cinemas – that’s Cineworld.

*** company profile ***
I don't usually do this but I went ... ...Cine UK Ltd is the proud owner and operator of Cineworld. The company has launched more multiplex cinemas since 1996 than any other UK Exhibitor, quite an achievement for such a young multiplex operator in one of the most customer-led industries in the world.
Not incredibily exciting but now you have a brief insight to cineworld now its time to find out about the website.

Intsantly upon visiting the site you are ...

Advantages: Friendly staff Disadvantages: Lack of those friendly staff
There isn't really that much to do in weymouth except the mandatory trip to the beach and shopping, so when cineworld opened here back in 1999 it gave us poor students something to do on those long winter days.
*Service
The service that you recieve in the weymouth cineworld is fairly good. The people in the box office are always happy to help you and are always very curteous. The only problem here is the fact that there is hardly ever more than ... ...for ages waiting to get into your movie. When you move over to the pop corn counter it is a bit of a different story. There are more people working there but you still end up queing for quite a long time. *Snacks
It's always been traditional to enjoy some pop corn whilst watching a movie and with almost with the same tradition cinema pop corn has to taste bad and be extremely expensive. There is no change with cineworld here. Just a quick glance ...

Advantages: unlimited cards, clean and organized Disadvantages: some grumpy staff and fussy about film ratings (ID)
I like Cineworld, but I still choose Vue over them, just because they seem to be so strict on ID! A couple of years ago (almost) when I turned 17, I was not allowed in to the Hot Fuzz movie - I needed ID to show them that I was 15 years of age. I didn't have ID, and I still don't even though i'm turning 19 soon. I showed them my National Insurance Card, which of course you don't get until your 16, but they still didn't let me through. I know this ... ...would I carry it round with me. Anyway, I went for a walk with my friend (a couple of miles into town centre) and went to Vue Cinemas, was let in straight away, and enjoyed the film! I also found out that a group of friends at college (when I was the same age), bought tickets for a 15 film, having no problems at all. When they went into the screen, the manager came in and removed them, offering them tickets to a film that was 12A or below... They ...

Advantages: Offer more than just a film Disadvantages: Food prices
The cineworld cinemas and web site are the best. The address is www.cineworld.co.uk and well worth a visit.
I regularly use both. They offer an e-mail service, which I have signed up for, and they send you the weekly listings. The benefit of being in there e-mail list is that they also send you mail to claim for free tickets. I have received free tickets for 'the Guru' and 'My big fat greek wedding' so far.
The site has more than just listings. ... ...has a section called 'coming soon' that lists films released well into next year. You can download trailers of most of these, not just read up on them. So if your like me and like to plan ahead this is a good feature.
The cinema itself offers a few special deals at a reduced rate. It has a classic film on Monday, with free hot drink. A Wednesday special and cheaper tickets on Tuesday. I love movies for juniors for £1 on a Saturday morning you can ...

Advantages: Easy to find film reviews and previews. Disadvantages: Better viewed with Shockwave, you would need to download.
I go to Cineworld in Bexleyheath and think that it's a nice experience, I thought I would try this site and was pleasantly surprised.
As with so many of web film sites, they're not well laid out and a lot of the information isn't updated regularly enough. With Cineworld.co.uk, it makes a refreshing change.
Now this site is best viewed with Shockwave, but even if you don't have that, it's a fairly easy site to move around and get the information ...
