My first ever introduction to the “home computer” was back in the 1980’s, when I picked up an old Sinclair (it wasn’t even a 48K!!) in a second-hand shop in Portobello, Edinburgh for about £20, and then went running around everybody I knew to copy their ... ...ever got truly hooked on was an adaptation of “The Hobbit”, from the book by Tolkein.
You had to type in commands, and try to find your way through different levels, until you finally solved the game. The choices for game of the week range from arcade games to commodore games, Atari games to Megadrive games. They also sometimes include games that you ... ...of Sonic the Hedgehog ported over to the NES, with Sonic replaced my Mario! (the game's called SOMARIO).
Also on the site are a number of console and arcade emulators which you can download to relive the old memories. However there are some legal aspects to downloading the ROMS(games) to play on these emulators. You can download any ROM, but it must be deleted within 24 hours if you do not own an original copy of the game.
So it's a fun site, and ...
