I have always been a fan of comet as i have found the prices on offer are normally one of the cheapest available and this is often backed up by the price comparison site www.pricerunner.com as i always use that site first before going to the website of the retailer with the best prices.
This is my experience of the website www.comet.co.uk and the service I have received from them over the last couple of years. A couple of weeks ago my dishwasher packed up with a big bang so it was time to put my hand in my pocket and purchase a new one.
I checked in my local comet storeto see the exact model of dishwasher I liked "a bosch" and logged onto the site when i got home to see if there was a special offer on and found that online not only was it £20 cheaper but there was a free delivery on offer too.Too good to turn down so I ordered on line.
The comet website is very easy to navigate just by entering dishwasher into the "search product" section and up came 118 dishwashers listed by price cheapest up to most expensive. If you know which model you want just click on it and go to checkout simple as that.The comet site does a lot more though you can click on up to 4 models and then you can compare them side by side to see what energy rating,how much water they use the sizes of them to see if they fit into your kitchen.
So you have picked the one you want and click on checkout,you are then presented with a box to enter your postcode into and then you are able to check on delivery options. A list of dates will appear normally a few days away and then a list of prices for delivery depending on what time of day or how long you want to wait in for the item to be delivered these are~~
All Day from 8AM~6PM £12.95 Morning 8AM~1PM £15.95 Afternoon 12AM~6PM £15.95
These are the normal delivery prices however in my case the delivery if i chose the all day option was totally free.There are a number of products available offering free delivery.
I chose my day I wanted some 4 days away entered my address and payment details and that was it a page appeared saying order confirmed and an email was received confirming my delivery day and with an attachment with my invoice.
On the delivery day I was called by the delivery guys saying they would be there in about an hour and sure enough almost to the second the comet van arrived delivered my new dishwasher and even took the old one away free of charge for a small fee they would aslo have "plumbed it in" but its not that hard to do that so I did it myself.
I have used comet a number of times and found them to be reliable and quick and I would rather deal with a well known national company with a high street presence it gives you a peace of mind feeling.
I would thoroughly recommend the comet website and the comet delivery staff as i have always received excellent service from them.

I would have liked to see more about the website - what other things do they offer? Another thing I'd like to know - were the prices you quoted for delivery uniform accross the range of stock, or were some items less expensive? jes ≈≈≈≈{; -)-{{:::{||||||<

In any dealings we've ever had with Comet they've never failed to deliver. From purchase, delivery, after sales service or advice, they've always proved themselves very reliable. Mandy.xx
Advantages: Easy to use online shop, good illustrations and descriptions of products, excellent auction service for clearence items Disadvantages: This site can be somewhat slow at times, especially during the early evenings
