During my time at University, I became webmaster for the Christian Union website. One of our biggest problems was letting people know what was going on because the university was a multi-campus university.
What we needed was a hassle free mailing list... and we found one.
Coollist enables you to start your own, free mailing list, to which people can sign up independantly, or you can add email addresses to the list as the list owner.
The whole system is very easy to use and has lots of good features to make your mailing list management easier.
When you sign up to coollist, you are given an email address which is {listname}@coollist.com members of the mailing list can send emails to this address if they want to send a message to the list.
As list owner, you are able to decide whether you want to moderate messages that are sent to your list address before they go to the rest of the list members, or if you want the messages to go straight out to the list members.
Coollist offer an easy way for a large group of people to keep in touch via email and I recommend it for any clubs and societies who want to do just that!
