As a follower of Cricket around the world, www.cricinfo.com has been a godsend for me to keep in touch with what is happening right around the cricketing world.

I stumbled across this site one day under the name www.cricket.com, as other websites just didn't cut the mustard when it came to what I was looking for. Right from when you come onto the site, you can choose which server you view the site in depending on where you are around the world, so you have that personalised feel and then this opens up the website and brings you to their homepage and you can begin browsing this marvellous and very informative website.

The homepage is one of the best going around, it has been updated in recent times and this has just made it that much better because there is more information available to view. In the centre of the page there are the days top stories regarding what is happening around the world of cricket and you are able to view those, underneath that are special features such as opinions, columns and special promotions being offered, and also underneath that are competitions where thousands of great prizes are up for grabs, the most popular being fantasy cricket, where you put yourself to the test choosing what you believe are the best 11 players going around and depending on their real life performances, you score points and win prizes, the best thing is that you choose teams for different competitions, so for the English County Cricket you choose the best side for that competition, and then Australia vs. West Indies Test Series, choose your best 11 from the players on offer there, and you pit your wits against other prospective coaches in the race for the title.

To the right of the screen there are a list of matches which are currently taking place around the world which you can keep up to date with via ball by ball text commentary and live stats and scores which refresh every 65 seconds, and in some cases, Cricinfo buys the Audio rights to games so if you have Real Player, you can listen to matches live, it also allows you to take a peek at what's coming up and matches which you may have missed in recent times, you can check the scores and see if your favourite team won, lost or drew.

Because of the way the world is it is not possible for all nations to be in cricket season at the same time, but in some countries like England and the West Indies they are in the thick of their season and you can keep track of not only their International Matches, but also their domestic series and how the teams are doing there, as well as any tours that teams are on, including "A" or "B" teams and even women's cricket around the world which is currently going on.

You can also take a look at any domestic cricket around the world and you can also take a look at what is coming up in the next 12 months with a calendar which is constantly updated with matches which are just around the corners and as new tours and new matches are struck up they are added to the list constantly.

If your a person who likes stats, you will think that you have died and gone to heaven because cricinfo.com has every possible statistic under the sun, whether you are looking for how many centuries Charles Bannerman made or how many ducks Sachin Tendulkar has scored in his career then this is the site for you as well, it has every single skerrick of a statistic, no matter how small or useful for you to raid, and it also has a filter, so you are able to specify your search so you find only the stats you want or need, and if you want to compare the stats of two or more players against each other, you can also do that as well and compare just how good they were, this site has the widest stats library as well.

Also if you are one who likes to delve deep into the history, this site has everything you want, every Test Match which has been played from 1877 to the latest test is on there, with all the batsmen, how they were dismissed and how many they made and who got the wickets, you can also have a look at all the one day scorecards dating back to the first one in 1971.

There's detailed reports on every game from every country and there are detailed stats on every series so you can check how well your favourite player is going batting, bowling and fielding wise. If you are one who like detailed analysis there is ball by ball text archive commentary on many games and shows you batsmen's wagon wheels of where they played their shots and how they did against certain bowlers and their statistics. It also has full player profiles and links to the cricket boards of every nation that plays cricket, the recent corruption report released by Sir Paul Condon is also on there for everyone to see and there is also a search engine just in case you haven't been able to find something, you can double check which will not let you down.

Anything you want to know on the game of cricket this site has it and this really is the answer to all our dreams.
