Advantages:	This diet will introduce you to all aspects of new media .  Most of the lecturers are great people .
Disadvantages:	The way the course is run leaves a lot to be desired .  Some of the lecturers have little experience in the industry .

Media Technology BSc

Going to Uni was never on the cards for me but in the final year of college I thought I might as well look at the options available, 'just in case'. After much investigation into what I wanted to do I came across the prospectus for Demontfort University and flipped to the Media section. The layout of the course and the time tabled lectures and so on fitted what I wanted exactly. I knew I could do it because we had already done similar studies at college.

I really enjoy the course and what we are 'taught' as it covers a wide range if not most of the aspects currently associated with new media. we make web sites, CD ROMs, videos etc., but I also like the fact that even though it is a BSc there are very few exams as most of the course is practical. This all means that you get progress reports all year through and can see exactly how you are doing.

If you like new media and are confidant with computers then this course is for you. If you like practical based studies you will love this course.

The only thing I can say about this course that I dislike is the way it is run. There are a few 'management' or 'political' problems that need to be ironed out. Many a time the same problems are raised but none seem to be addressed directly or quickly. It is a shame that this happens because the actual diet could easily be the best of the best but as it stands the issues lead to irritation and loss of heart in the course.

Having said that the lecturers will MAKE time to see you if requested. They will not complain or moan no matter how many times you want to see them.
