Advantages: SHOP TILL YOU DROP AT HOME, LOADS OF CHOICE, DELIVERED Disadvantages: NONE ENCOUNTERED YET
Up until about 2 years ago, I was what was known as an Internet shopping virgin. Most, if not all of my shopping was done offline and this suited me down to the ground. After the birth of my second child, we had moved house, settling into a more rural location. The nearest large shopping centre was about an ... ...do with just our local town. The shops there were plentiful, and you could get more or less everything you desire, but for larger department stores travelling was a necessity.
A couple of weeks before Christmas I saw myself without a car. The turbo decided to die on me in my hour of need. Luckily it was covered by warranty so we didn’t have the prospect of a huge bill after Christmas, but it did mean that I had to wait 3 days for a courtesy car. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, good selection, helpful customer service. Disadvantages: Delivery times quite long, not all brands available on the site.
As I'm so fussy when it comes to clothes (they can't be too big, too small, too tight, too baggy, too bright, too dark, etc.) I normally find it's best to visit an actual store so I can try on clothes before buying. So this is what led me to try the Debenhams website to buy ... ...The home page of the site features the season's main items or advertises any special offers Debenhams is currently running. Along the top and bottom of the page are lists of options which will take you off to various sub sections of the site. The home page itself is visually appealing with a lot of bright colours normally being incorporated and yet it still retains a sense of simplicity at the same time too.

Britain’s favourite department store is now online. Or, to be more precise, it has been online for a bit, but I’ve only just got round to visiting. It’s GE Capital’s fault, you see. They are the bank who issue Debenhams (and Arcadia) storecards and send out the statements each month. Last week I received my latest bill (not too high since they only trust me with, wait for it, a £250 credit limit) and in their new news section, ... ...Debenhams staff buying on their staff credit cards can now enjoy a 10% discount on stuff ordered online / over the phone. Up until now we’d only been given discounts in store, but now with opportunity to save some more money, I had to have a look. ** Website Facilities ** (1) Shopping What would a shop’s website be without the ability to buy things? You can search the Debenhams Direct catalogue, check out the special offers both online ...

Advantages: well presented website that is easy to navigate, with good range of products Disadvantages: so much to see
Debenhams combines leading national and international brands as well as it’s own brands and exclusive contracts with many leading British designers, such as Jasper Conran.
I am not a particular fan of the high street store of Debenhams, so was pleasantly surprised by their on-line facility. Not a review of the website as such - please see specific criteria ratings for opinions about the website itself. This opinion would have been in buyer beware but I've already posted in this category. If you feel this is posted incorrectly, then please read no further. It is a rant about part of the 'service' provided by debenhams.com. I make no apologies about this as I cannot post in the category that is most suited. I will provide a brief background: ... ...has been very ill recently and has undergone several unpleasant operations. She had been depressed following these operations and the situation has been compounded by the fact that she was unable to attend our recent wedding due to illness. After speaking to her last week, we decided to order some flowers in attempt to cheer her up. As this service offers a courier delivery option that would deliver the next day (as confirmed by email), we were confident ...
