I have recently been contemplating changing Internet providers from BT Internet to DEMON, and I thought that I would ask them a simple question relating to ISDN access. I wrote to them on the eight of September and was still awaiting a response on 20th September. Finally, I gave up and wrote to them to basically forget about it as clearly their customer service left a lot to be desired.
They did finally respond, but I'm sorry DEMON, looks like the ... ...this earth I would use you as a provider.
Unfortunately, DEMON is one of those providers that does not keep up with the times. Their Internet package offerings are WAY out of Date and there only saviour may be in the BT SURFTIME options coming out. Speed is not everything you should look for in a provider. High up on my list is the ability for a providers Customer Support section to respond to emails very quickly. ...

Advantages: Quick, well established Disadvantages: Bad support, relatively expensive
I've been using the demon ISP now for nearly 4 years - I've been very impressed with it and would happily recomend it! however about 3 months ago I decided to build my business website, and demon business webhost was the obvious choice. Advantages: Fast, Reliable, Established company, Static IP addresses Disadvantages: Relatively expensive, Poor customer relations?
Up until about a year ago I had used Demon Internet for some 6 years, via a standard dial up account.
They weren't cheap, but I thought the service was fairly quick and reliable. They were a stable company too, not likely to suddenly disappear.
I particularly liked the fact that they used static IP addresses, one on the only UK ISP's to do this on a dial up account. This means that you could run a web server from your dial up account if you wanted! ... ...use SMTP mail for both incomming and outgoing mail. Which in turn gives an easy way to have multiple mailboxes accessed by different people.
I even managed to run e-mail and internet access services for a company of 70 people via a Linux proxy server and a Demon dial up account.
I always found technical support excellent although sometimes a little slow to respond.
I never had cause to use customer support whilst still a customer, however when ...
