I found some years ago that night sweats could be virtually eliminated by disposing of the synthetic duvet and using one with a natural filling. At that time, cost lead me to a feather and down duvet and it served its purpose for many years but it was now time to replace it.
Finances now being a little better I decided to upgrade to an all down duvet this time as they are even lighter than the down and feather, but they don't come cheap.
What I actually wanted was a 4.5tog goose down duvet and it was mid winter, and you can't buy a summer weight duvet in the winter I was told.
After hours of
internet searching and phoning local shops the best price for what I wanted was from directbedding.com but I still had a few questions, whats a baffle wall, is the cover leak proof, all these questions were answered with great patience by Debbie from Direct so I placed my order.
Now I alway say that any company can fulfil an order, its when something goes wrong that you get to see what a company is really made of. My duvet arrived 2 days later and on examination I found the down was not very well distributed through the duvet leaving potential cold spots. I phone Debbie and she immediately arranged for it to be collected at no charge to me and set about investigating how this could have happened. In a call back later in the day Debbie explained that it was the lightness of the filling in the 4.5tog that made the quantity of filling difficult for machinery to read so they are checked by eye and it was simply a case of human error. After personally checking the stock Debbie was able to find me another duvet that was perfect. My replacement arrived 2 days later and was exactly that. The quality of the case is excellent and the filling even through all pockets, its like sleeping under a cloud.
The directbedding website is very much to the point, not fussy and while you cannot order
online some might find that more secure, its only a phone call after all. I found this company very informative and a pleasure to deal with and the product all that it should be.
