We had a horrible experience with Direct Ferries. They were supposed to notify us of a change in the Ferry Schedule as noted in the DESCRIPTION section below. Because they weren't notified, we weren't notified. Belearia, the ferry company, claims that they sent me an SMS notifying me of the change in schedule. However we never got the SMS AND they sent us the SMS on the day the ferry was to leave which would have made us scramble to rearrange our schedule if we had received the SMS. I recently tried to book a ferry crossing with these guy’s and their booking engine repeatedly crashed at the payment stage. Little did I know the booking had actually gone through without any warnings! Their customer support services are rude and were not helpful with trying to cancel the booking. I eventually managed to cancel the booking and ended up booking with ferrysaver.co.uk. As the previous review mentions I have also heard from others that ticket dates do not match up with what customers are booking. I have only recently started to use directferries and would recommend this company to anybody. I had to book last minute ferry travel to Ireland due to a family bereavement. I was able to make a provisional booking for £265 for a return trip from Cairnryan to Belfast with Stena late one evening however the payment phase of the booking process continually failed. I phoned the customer service line at 0900 the following morning only to be told that that price was unavailable and it would now cost £321. I think this site may have changed recently because I had used it a while ago but now it suggests other ferries and show you the prices. Just thought that was a cool feature cos I got a cheaper trip out of it. There are all sorts of comparison sites out there but this is the first one I found to compare ferries, which seem to be missing from a lot of other travel sites. Overall the site has quite a lot of useful information although perhaps the design could be improved to look more modern.
